Ep. 39 - Reacting to the recent deaths of Anthony Bourdain & Kate Spade
00:59:13
We go really deep this show, talking about depression as Brandon reacts to the recent tragic deaths of travel and food icon Anthony Bourdain, and fashion icon Kate Spade. Brandon relates this to his own depression after losing several guys in the SEAL community and it coming to a head with the death of Glen Doherty in Benghazi, Libya. Brandon also talks about how SOFREP writer George Hand's four-part series "Former Delta Force Operator on the truth about suicide; Been there, done that" made a profound impact on him and how he viewed this incredibly serious issue. Brandon does still manage to share some good times though as he reflects on the life of his former teammate Glen. Also on this episode, Brandon discusses attending his first meeting in Washington D.C. as a member of the board of the SBA(Small Business Administration.) They meet quarterly, and he hopes to be a voice for vets in the entrepreneur community. So if you have any concerns on that end that you want raised, he hopes you'll reach out. We also answer your emails sent to powerofthoughtpodcast@gmail.com, and urge you to pre-order Brandon's upcoming book "Mastering Fear" dropping in 2 months. As always, Brandon has a policy of signing all pre-orders, and he'll let you know the instructions on how to do so as we get closer to release date. Be prepared for a kick ass book if you love this show and the continuing theme of triumphing over fears.

Ep. 30 - Remembering Captain Jerry Yellin
00:28:13
On this episode we remember a very special guest that we had on for Episode 13 just a few months back, Captain Jerry Yellin. Jerry flew the final combat mission over Japan during WWII in the P-51 Mustang. Yellin served in the Army Air Forces, and was still flying when we last spoke. Unfortunately, we recently heard of his passing, and that the interview with him on The Power of Thought was likely one of his very last. Brandon was looking really forward to flying with him in the RV6 during what was supposed to be a visit to NY this month, which unfortunately did not come to fruition. We play a great clip from that conversation. Also on this episode Brandon discusses e-commerce disrupting brick and mortar retail, and his observations on it. We get into blockchain and cryptocurrency as well. We now have a Twitter and Instagram @PowerOfPodcast and hope to be very interactive with you, the listeners. So be sure to follow and shoot us your questions and feedback.

Ep. 29 - Robert O'Neill, SEAL Team 6 UBL shooter
00:46:21
There's always a lot to be discussed when teammates from SEAL Team 6 and SEAL Team 3 are in the room, especially when that member of "Six" is none other than Robert O'Neill. Author of "The Operator," and best known as the shooter of the most known terrorist Osama Bin Laden, Robert is the real deal and has a hell of a resume. It should also be noted that during Rob's time there, SEAL Team 6/DEVRGU was behind some of the most notable missions. These include the rescue of Captain Phillips, Extortion 17, Operation Red Wings (the mission behind "Lone Survivor,") as well as the ordeal involving Bowe Bergdahl. We go beyond the mission itself though, and talk the importance of mindset and not letting fear turn into panic. Rob also lets you in on the mission behind his charity Your Grateful Nation which helps returning spec ops vets transition into a career. You can visit Rob online at RobertJONeill.com and follow him @McHooyah. If you enjoyed this conversation, we ask that you leave us a review on Apple Podcasts. Ep. 28 - Jairek Robbins
01:09:55
Joining us is Jairek Robbins, a performance coach that Brandon could not speak more highly of, and you'll understand why a little better once you hear his story on this episode. Being the son of the biggest name in motivational speaking out there, you might assume Jairek's had an all-around cushy lifestyle. That would be an incorrect assumption though, as Jairek discusses with us his first job working security at Blockbuster Video, to having a near death experience with Malaria travelling abroad and being unable to fly back home. You'll hear some valuable information on this one, like having a healthy relationship or mending a relationship that's gone South, whether with your spouse or a family member. We also talk about the value of sleep in your performance, something Brandon has experienced to an extreme while training to become a Navy SEAL. We livestreamed this one as well, and get to some of the viewers questions. You can check out Jairek at JairekRobbins.com, follow him @JairekRobbins, and he also has a limited time special on his guide to performance that you can take advantage of at HighPerformance47.com

00:35:16
CreativeLive recently reached out to Brandon's publisher Penguin Random House about him doing a 4 hour online class based on the principles of his last book "Total Focus." On this episode he shares what he's been working on. He plans to zero in on certain parts of the book and be interactive with those hoping to learn from him. Knowing your number in terms of income, for example, is something Brandon gets more in depth about. Connected to that is asking yourself, what are the three most important things in your life? Whether it's family, vacation time, or anything else, you need to incorporate that into your goals. On this edition of Power of Thought, Webb talks about how to do that. Note: We apologize for any audio issues as Brandon was on via Skype, and there were a few dropouts.

On this episode he covers a lot of ground regarding his passion for man's best friend. Mike gets into the many uses of dogs whether as therapy pets, their ability to defuse stressful situations, or of course, as arguably the most valuable defense weapon. Mike sees being a good dog owner as a personal goal that must be attacked with the same passion one has for success in business or life in general. Some of the topics we hit on beyond Zane's history with the sport of bodybuilding include seminars he continues to do, presenting the body as an art form, and meditation which includes repeating positive mantras to one's self. Also a part of meditation for Frank is his signature Advanced Mind Muscle Meditation System which uses different sound frequencies that have been scientifically found to benefit a number of conditions which we get into. Ep. 7 - Amit Verma
00:46:54
If you've been keeping up with the podcast thus far, you've heard Brandon go through each of the principles from his new book "Total Focus" every week, and we round those out with the final three principles. We also bring on a good friend, CJ Ramone, former Marine best known for playing with The Ramones, arguably the most legendary punk rock band of all time, from 1989 up until their very last show. He also digs into being in the "long game" as a touring rock musician. Beyond that interview with CJ, as many of you have seen, Admiral McRaven's advice of making your bed every morning has been gaining some attention, and Webb talks about the importance of good habits like these. Also on this episode is the importance of setting a budget for yourself, be it as a business or just as an individual. Enjoy, and make sure to pick up the book! Ep. 4 - Front Sight Focus
00:39:22
On this episode we jump into the first principle of Brandon Webb's book "Total Focus: Make Better Decisions Under Pressure" which comes out next week, and that principle is front sight focus. As a sniper, you get one shot, and one opportunity, so you'd better make it count. That principle can be applied to anyone's life, and no matter what your goal is, as Brandon describes, you sometimes need to throw yourself into that goal fully and form a healthy obsession before you can take any break from it. That principle is explored this episode, along with an excerpt from our SOFREP Radio interview with Army 82nd Airborne veteran and aspiring Olympian bobsledder Lou Moreira.

He also talks about navigating the necessary politics of life that we all deal with. In addition to that, on this episode are some books that will motivate you including Kamal Ravikant's "Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It," which will encourage you to not beat yourself up and to use positive self-talk, as well as Tim Ferriss's "Tools of Titans," which is a book Brandon will go back to every month,
