Abdullah Al Buajan, also spelled Abdullah Al-Bu’ayjaan or Abdullah Al-Buaijan, is a prominent Saudi Quran reciter, imam, and preacher. He was born in 1399 AH (1979 CE) in Saudi Arabia. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sharia from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and completed his Master’s and doctoral studies in Islamic judiciary from the Higher Institute of Judiciary. He holds Ijāzahs in the Hafs riwāyah granted by noted scholars like Sheikh Ibrahim Al Dosari and Sheikh Abdulhakim Al-Khater. He began serving as an imam and Khateeb at Bowardi Mosque in Riyadh before being appointed as an Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina in 1434 AH (2013 CE), by royal decree. Abdullah Al Buajan is also a lecturer in the Faculty of Humanitarian and Legal Studies at Al-Kharj, affiliated with King Saud University, and previously taught at the Ministry of Education. His murattal-style recitations in the Hafs riwāyah include complete surahs such as Al-Fātiḥah, Al-Anfāl, Yūnus, Hud, Yūsuf, Ar-Ra‘d, Ibrāhīm, Al-Kahf, Maryam, and Tā-Hā. His delivery is characterized by clear Tajwīd, measured pacing, and a reflective tone, earning him international respect among listeners and Qur’an students.
