Your host, Dr. Jade Teta, is an integrative physician, entrepreneur and author in metabolism and personal development.

Episode Date
On Research Metabolism and Ketones with Dr. Latt Mansor – Ep. 183
01:22:05

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade connects with Dr. Latt Mansor. Dr. Mansor is the Research Lead at HVMN and has a background in metabolism and physiology. Today, he talks about how ketones impact almost everything in our bodies and how they can improve performance, body functions, and overall energy.

Dr. Mansor also explains that inflammation in the body and even chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension can all be caused – or at least influenced – by our diet. One way to start optimizing our daily diet is by looking at insulin levels: high levels of insulin tend to be responsible for these issues and are also connected with our daily carbohydrate intake.

In addition, Dr. Mansor also dives deep into ‘exogenous ketones’. Exogenous ketones are ketones we can take from outside sources (like a supplement) but he explains that if an individual is already following a ketogenic diet to lose weight (meaning ketones are already being made by the body) there is no need to benefit from this alternative. On Earning, Saving, and Managing Money with Brandon Belk – EP. 182
01:29:16

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade welcomes a repeat guest, Brandon Belk. Brandon is a financial expert who has previously been on the podcast to talk about digital currencies, financial instability, and where money is heading to. Today, they talk about how to earn, save, and efficiently manage money. It’s fundamental to understand these three ways of handling money to have financial freedom.

Brandon talks about the differences (advantages and disadvantages) of both concepts: working for ourselves and working for a company. Earning money will depend on these two ‘methods’ as well as choosing to have a side hustle. To save money, Brandon shares important tips to ‘take care of yourself first’ and prioritize what needs to be prioritized. In addition, Brandon talks about the idea of investments and how anyone can make a good investment even if their income is not that high. Tune in!

HRT and TRT Part 2 with Joe Miller – Ep. 181
56:47

Continuing the conversation from the previous episode, Dr. Jade and Dr. Joe Miller this time talk about some of the signs men should be paying attention to if they feel like they need testosterone replacement therapy. It’s also important to point out that these signs might be signs of some other deficiencies such as vitamins, minerals, and micronutrient deficiencies.

Dr. Joe highlights that men are becoming more curious about testosterone replacement therapy earlier and earlier in life. Men in their 30s are more aware and are considering the benefits of the therapy. Before deciding on the treatment, it’s also important to know that low carbohydrate diets can be a huge influence on testosterone and other hormones might play a role as well. Tune in!

HRT and TRT Part 1 with Joe Miller – Ep. 180
01:13:43

In this episode, Dr. Jade Teta has a conversation with Dr. Joe Miller. They talk about the importance of balanced hormones in relation to a healthy lifestyle and weight loss goals. Hormones are an important biomarker for every individual to know whether or not they are living an optimized, healthy life. Hormonal imbalance can be indicated by low energy levels, hunger, cravings, and even a lack of sleep.

Talking specifically about estrogen and progesterone, Dr. Jade explains that essential female hormones can directly impact fat burn. For instance, estrogen acts as a fat-storing, as well as a fat-burning hormone, and a disproportional estrogen/progesterone ratio can cause weight gain. Dr. Jade also dives deep into testosterone replacement therapy and its connection with a man’s health.

Put Your Ass Where Your Heart Wants to Be with Steven Pressfield – Ep. 179
01:06:39

Steven Pressfield is a screenwriter and NYT best-selling author. Having worked for 27 years before having his first novel published, Steven understands a lot about creating from a place of action instead of creating from a place of expectation. Steven believes that we have no control over external circumstances; we only have control over our self-discipline, our self-motivation, and how smart we can work.

In this episode, Dr. Jade and Steven discuss his creative process, the importance of being committed to the work we want to share with the world, and the importance of ‘putting our ass where our heart wants to be’ meaning committing to certain goals so we can get the outcome of this effort. With a very straightforward approach, Steven also explains that once we dedicate ourselves to our purpose, everything unfolds in front of us – even if it takes a long time.

On Being Male with Kelly Gardner – Ep. 178
01:07:43

In this episode, Dr. Jade welcomes Kelly Gardner to discuss what it is like to be a man in the society we are currently living in. Kelly shares his opinion on important topics that compose a man’s life, such as fatherhood, work, and friendship. Kelly is an advocate for men nowadays to be involved in communities. Being part of a circle of friends that have the willingness to hold each other accountable is extremely valuable for all of us.

Kelly also believes that men are often deeply influenced by their core values, and those core values are deeply influenced by the stories they lived. It’s also important to remember that every man is unique and part of this uniqueness comes from those same stories, the traumas, the fears, the lessons learned, and the failures. Being a next level man involves all of these factors and more: understanding that there are no good men or bad men, just men trying their hardest to find purpose. Tune in!

On Seed Stories and Communication with Lunden Souza – Ep. 177
01:16:16

In this episode, Dr. Jade welcomes Lunden Souza to talk about communication skills, seed stories, and how choosing the right language to use with ourselves and with others is fundamental. The notion of ‘seed stories’ means that we, living as adults, somehow reproduce through the way we act, think, and behave, the old stories, traumas, and lessons we had as kids. It influences our personality and reality.

Lunden, who is a Life Coach and a Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner, also shares some good practices we can use to communicate our feelings, wants, and needs in a way that doesn’t harm the other person. According to Lunden, it’s really important to learn how to request something you need while also setting boundaries to avoid certain situations you don’t need. Our communication skills are also impacted by our ‘seed stories’. Tune in to learn more!

On Body Recompositioning – Ep. 176
40:39

In this episode, Dr. Jade explains some good practices if you are trying to lose fat while also building (or maintaining) muscle mass, also called ‘body recomposition’. First, it’s important to know that individuals who are just starting in the gym will accomplish body recomposition easier than those who are intermediate or advanced lifters.

Secondly, when it comes to nutrition, people who are trying to lose fat while building muscle should be focusing on a few key things: protein intake – extremely important to give the muscle a reason to maintain its shape; veggies – they will give you the right amount of nutrients that the body requires while in this process; water intake – fundamental to keep the body hydrated and also of great value to help with fat loss.

When it comes to workouts, Dr. Jade explains that beginners should be doing something along the lines of ‘full body workouts’ while more advanced lifters might separate their workouts into body parts, for example, Monday: chest & back / Tuesday: legs & calves / Wednesday: shoulders & arms, and so on…

On the Forward Party – Ep. 175
42:06

Base level humans are usually guided by the thought that they are the center of the universe (much like how children think). Culture level humans always need to be part of a group and are guided by the thought that the opposite group is often wrong. Next level humans understand that the common good is what matters and are constantly working for a healthy debate and a healthy integration.

In this episode, Dr. Jade makes the distinction between the concept of Base, Culture, and Next Level Humans. This concept can be applied to many areas of life, including politics, and it’s important to think about how our choices – and the people we vote for – are influenced by these three states. We shouldn't be avoiding talking about politics, and in this episode you will learn why and how we should be celebrating the existence of more voices in our society today. Tune in!

On Hate and Hurting – Ep. 174
41:01

In this episode, Dr. Jade talks about the concept of using the things that once hurt us – and the hate derived from them – to be better people. It’s important to remember that we all have a choice: we can be destroyed and worn out by those hurtful experiences or we can use them as fuel to become heroes. This concept also creates a connection between staying in the “base level” stage and achieving the “next level” stage.

In addition, Dr. Jade explains that we can all use hurt in life the same way as we use compliments: being aware of it and recognizing it in ourselves. Another significant course of action is learning from the pain, creating something good from it, and helping other individuals who are going through the same thing. This is the only way to deal with hurt/hate: quitting the victim mentality and taking sole responsibility for our wounds.

On a New Diet Strategy – Ep. 173
46:45

In this episode, Dr. Jade talks about the connection between metabolism and stress, weight loss activities, and also a new approach to dieting, which main idea is inspired by a study. In this study, a group of men was given only 300 calories to be consumed daily (in two different forms). They also had to walk several miles during the day (slow walks). The weight loss results after 4 days were profound.

On metabolism and stress, Dr. Jade explains that the metabolism’s main responsibility is to keep you alive and for that reason, it can adapt and adjust as your daily habits change. That’s why what we do with our bodies daily matters: what we eat and how we move, for example, are two of the most important factors. The metabolism also can adapt to stress, acting more like a thermostat than a calculator. Tune in!

On Financial Instability and Digital Currencies with Brandon Belk – Ep. 172
01:15:00

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade has a very interesting conversation with Brandon Belk. Brandon gives us a thorough explanation of financial systems (and their flaws), current levels of inflation in the U.S., digital currencies, and how to prepare our money for the future. Education and learning about topics like finances are also fundamental to being a next level human.

Brandon explains the current scenario of the modern economy, highlighting the differences between a productivity-based economy versus a debt-based economy – which is the type of economy we would want to avoid. According to Brandon, the “solution” of printing more money while facing price raises is not effective in the long term. They also touch base on technology and the role that digital currencies will play to facilitate – and even overcome – all sorts of monetary difficulties in the future.

To contribute to the discussion, he welcomes his colleague Tracy whose similar interest in naturopathy made the two of them connect through social media.

Diving deep into the curriculum of his own education, Dr. Jade talks about what inspired him to follow the medical path, what interests he had as a student that eventually made him get interested in integrative medicine, and how he has combined both conventional and alternative methods in his practice over the years. The Three Imperatives of a Next Level Human – Ep. 170
45:42

Today, Dr. Jade speaks about the concept of the three imperatives of a next level human. As we all know from the show’s intro, loving, teaching, and learning are the foundation to living a life with purpose and the key actions in order to feel more fulfilled. Different from what is known as ‘base level humans’ and ‘culture level humans’, a next level human finds these three ideas to be the most important aspects of life.

Learning is potentially the only thing in the world we need to keep doing as time passes on. When we stop learning, we stop growing and the lessons learned can be a huge asset to facing what life throws at us. Teaching is fundamental to pass to the next generation – or to other people – these lessons. On the other hand, loving (life, our family, our friends, ourselves) is what creates deep connections between humans and is what keeps us all moving forward. Tune in to learn more!

On Health Tech Devices – Ep. 169
57:20

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade has an interesting discussion with Joe Vennare. Joe is an entrepreneur and the co-founder of Fitt Insider which is an online platform talking about wellness, health, fitness, news, and trends in the health tech industry. Today, Joe shares more about his company and his opinion on health tech devices, how not to get too obsessed with them, and how to balance the information provided by them and the natural, daily habits we can follow for better health.

The new approaches popping up in health and fitness and all the data we can get from these tech devices are extremely interesting and valid to objectively measure what we can do to take better care of our bodies. On the other hand, too much data can make you fall into the trap of getting too reliant on external help, whereas the most important thing you can do to improve your health still is based on exercise, food quality, managing stress, and getting great sleep. On Metabolic Toggles – Ep. 168
46:42

In this episode, Dr. Jade shares the audio version of chapter 5 of his book ‘Next Level Metabolism’. In this chapter, Dr. Jade explains how your metabolism will respond to each one of the combinations you can make with training and dieting. There are four toggles when it comes to metabolism: eat more and exercise more, eat less and exercise less, eat more and exercise less, and eat less and exercise more.

Each one of these four modalities serves a specific goal, works with specific types of metabolism, and is better for specific types of body compositions. Understanding and comprehending these four aspects and how they can work for you is the best approach when it comes to weight loss and muscle gain. The fifth modality, ‘eat some, exercise some’, works as a maintenance phase and can also be extremely effective health-wise.

On Being a Hero – Ep. 167
44:44

In this episode, Dr. Jade talks about the dynamics of being a hero every day. We all go through a journey in life where we find ourselves having to prove we “can do it” all the time. Also, human beings deal with problems constantly, are constantly feeling pressure from the external environment, and sometimes face extreme difficulties such as being on the streets, having addictions, suffering abuse, etc.

Making a parallel with a personal story, Dr. Jade questions what is like to be a hero, what it means to be a hero, and how to recognize the virtues of one. The things that happen to us – the good and the bad – make us a victim or a hero and we have the opportunity to choose which one we will embody. Life can take us to tortuous paths but it’s important to remember that wherever we are, there is always a chance to be a hero, right?

Next Level Metabolism Chapter One – Ep. 166
51:45

In this special episode, Dr. Jade shares with the Next Level Human Podcast listeners the first chapter of his upcoming book ‘Next Level Metabolism’. You will listen to the audible version of Chapter One and find out everything you need to know in order to comprehend metabolism and how it can work for you. Oftentimes seen as something hard to understand, metabolism can actually help you reach your goals in a smart way.

It’s important to know that if you are not getting results when it comes to your weight loss (or weight gain) journey is because you are missing something that needs to be addressed. At this moment, metabolism comes into place and that’s why it’s fundamental to know more about this topic. Also, it’s always good to remember that everyone is different and, as Dr. Jade points out in the episode, what works for others won’t always work for you.

On Fast Versus Flexible Metabolism – Ep. 165
29:45
In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, you will learn all about the differences between fast and flexible metabolism. While it’s more beneficial for you to have a flexible metabolism when it comes to body recomposition, you might influence a specific type A or type B metabolism by following specific tips. The best way to follow along with what your body is prone to do is to know what works for you.

Dr. Jade talks about several factors such as exercise, diet, cardio, mood, stress levels, and energy that can – and will – influence how your metabolism operates. Some actions like having a diet filled with nutritious macronutrients (especially protein), having an optimized strength training program (rather than doing cardio every day), and managing stress levels (paying attention to sleep quality, for example) are examples to turn your metabolism into a flexible and strong one. On Desire Versus Intention – Ep. 164
26:31

Desire is the idea of wanting something no matter what; to desire things in life is a natural aspect of human beings, but you might be frustrated if you don’t get the thing that you desire. It almost has a ‘needy’ connotation to it. Intention, on the other hand, suggests a more confident state; you know what you want and the path to get there, but you understand that if it doesn’t happen, it wasn’t meant to be.

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade proposes a reflection on these two topics. If guided by desire, a person can feel harmed and bothered more often by the twists and turns of life, whereas people guided by intention see themselves as co-creators of their lives and engage with daily situations with ease. As stated in the episode: “The worst thing that ever happened to you could actually be the best thing”.

On Building Muscle While Burning Fat – Ep. 163
59:11

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade gives a thorough overview on the process of building muscle while burning fat. This process is doable – research says – but it’s important to know the right way and most importantly: the right variables. The concept of Body Recomposition is different from going through separate ‘phases’ of building muscle and losing fat, commonly known as ‘bulking’ and ‘cutting’.

Dr. Jade also explains that it will be easier for beginners to do this, simply because they haven’t been exercising and dieting for too long. A more experienced person who wants to build muscle at the same time as losing fat is going to struggle a little bit more. You will also learn the connection between this process and macronutrient intake, macronutrient ratios, and different diet modalities such as veganism and keto.

On Freedom and Lies – Ep. 162
01:01:59

Next level humans are always open to debate, are always open to different ideas, and most of all, respect other people’s viewpoints. And one thing that every human being has in common is the right to have an opinion in the first place. But what if all the arguments around this opinion come from a place of misinformation? In the world that we live in, which one has more importance, freedom of speech or the speech itself?

Welcome to this week’s episode of Next Level Human Podcast. In this episode, Dr. Jade talks about this concept of having the freedom to express our opinions and say what we think out loud versus having the honesty to not spread lies. A great thing about technology and social media is that everyone has access to all kinds of information, but at the same time, everyone can produce information (even if it’s wrong information). On Social Interaction and Coaching with Danny Coleman – Ep. 161
01:07:50

Welcome to this week’s episode of Next Level Human Podcast. This week’s topics vary from coaching skills to how to have good communication and social interactions. To explain these ideas, Dr. Jade talks about the concept of The Morpheus Effect, which is basically the idea of someone (a coach, a friend, or a mentor) seeing sort of a hidden purpose (or hidden potential) in someone when even the person doesn’t see it.

Featuring this episode we have Danny Coleman, one of Dr. Jade’s oldest friends and colleagues. Danny is the head of coaching of Metabolic Living and an expert when it comes to behavioral changes and psychology. They talk about how everyone has a potential in life and an opportunity to put it in action, but what happens most of the time is that this potential stays hidden for a long time until someone discovers it.

On Bad Breath – Ep. 160
43:15

Welcome to this week’s episode of Next Level Human Podcast. This week’s topic is bad breath. As much as it might sound like a humorous theme for the great majority, there are a lot of people that suffer from this problem severely to the point that it prevents them from having relationships, friendships, or a regular daily routine. Known as its scientific name – halitosis -, bad breath can manifest due to different health issues.

Dr. Jade explains this problem more in depth and shares some great advice on how to get rid of the bad smells that can occur. You will learn the M.I.N.T. protocol (that stands for Mouth, Intestines, Nose, and Throat), how each one of them can affect oral health, and what you can do on a daily basis to prevent having bad breath. Simple habits like drinking water, flossing, and chewing gum are good options, but more advanced ones like washing the mouth with pure sources of liquid fat such as coconut and olive oil can also be effective. On Sharing (Relinquam Amor) – Ep. 159
55:34

We can be special by delivering something special to the world. This is one of the most fundamental concepts that a next level human should be following. Finding purpose throughout life is truly a blessing that we all should be thankful for if we do find it, but passing on this purpose and all its teachings to the world and to a community is what makes us worthy of this blessing in the first place. The good should be shared.

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade concludes the POWERS series, where he explains with details the six concepts that compose the acronym. Purpose, ownership, wisdom, engagement, and resolve are all important steps to what comes next: sharing. And by sharing and teaching and being humble to educate others about different ideas we can enhance others, making society more inspiring. Tune in!

On Being Human and the Four Jobs – Ep. 158
41:48

Earn and manage money. Build and maintain physical health. Give and receive love. Create purpose and meaning. These are the four jobs that every human being should take into account when living the everyday life. These four activities are – or at least should be – the greatest incentives that guide our actions, our thoughts, our behaviors, and how we show up in the world. Without them, nothing flows the right way.

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade explains the concept of the four jobs (mentioned in the beginning of every episode) and talks about the importance of balancing them and making them work together. Although we tend to prioritize one of them from time to time, it’s fundamental to give enough attention for each one. These jobs are not taught in school; we learn them and figure them out by our own.

On Engagement and Resolve - Ep. 157
43:25

As a follow up to the episodes about Perception, Ownership, and Wisdom, today Dr. Jade talks about Engagement and Resolve. When we decide to step out of our old self, or the base level human self, and we finally change our perception, take ownership of how we feel, and acquire wisdom to know how to act differently, it’s time to start engaging in new habits and having resolve to keep moving forward.

It’s also important to accept that this entire process – the 6 powers process – is going to be very challenging because we eventually will be changing how we are, ever since we learned how to be. But, through these challenges and hard times and struggles, come the lessons and the insights we will use forever. At the end of our lives, we want – or at least should – to feel proud of our accomplishments. Tune in!

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade talks about how to set up a personal and individualized nutrition program for yourself without having to abandon foods that you like or other personal preferences. In terms of losing weight (or gaining weight) or even maintaining weight and being more healthy, the only way to do it right is finding out what works best for you. There is no magic pill or magic recipe.

Being aware of the amount of calories you need to consume in order to lose weight is very important and has its value, but most people can create innumerous “systems” and use innumerous “tools” inside this method of monitoring calories to create results. The “system” you will use and the best “tool” for you, only you can tell and that might be unsatisfying for people to hear but it’s the best way to stick to progress. Tune in!

On Death (The Principle of Memento Mori) – Ep. 155
01:16:16

Death is perhaps the only certainty we have in life. No matter how you have been living your life, who you have been connecting with, or what actions you have been taking, death is coming for you – but it should not be a thing to fear. In fact, we don’t have a problem with death; we have a problem with fearing death, which is why we don’t like to talk about it throughout our lifespan. Remember you must die.

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, you will listen to a recording session where Dr. Jade and other guests talk about this concept of accepting death as a definitive result for all of us. Not accepting it, or maybe, being distressed about it can actually be the main cause not to live a fulfilled life, which can create regret. In addition, Dr. Jade explains the difference between physical and psychological death.

On Wisdom – Ep. 154
59:26

One of the components of finding purpose in life and progressing on the journey of becoming a next level human is acquiring wisdom. But, different from what most people think, wisdom is not just learning new information, reading new books, and acquiring more and more knowledge. Wisdom is also about experiencing what you know and living this knowledge in practice.

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade dives deep into the concept of wisdom. As a follow up to the previous episodes, you will learn that wisdom is getting out of your comfort area of expertise and engaging in things you know nothing about. Wisdom is also proving your own ideas wrong, instead of other people’s. And, finally, wisdom is – or at least should be – a combination of intuition and logic. Tune in!

On Ownership – Ep. 153
31:06

Our job to be a next level human involves not only wanting to be different, but putting all our effort in being different. Thoughts, actions, and feelings must be aligned with who we want to be, and that is the first rule. Otherwise, there will be two opposite sides, fighting for the chance to coexist. Taking ownership of what we need to change in order to change, is the beginning of achieving this next level.

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade talks about this duality. Why is it so hard to change and how do we actually do it? First, we need to challenge our perception of what is common sense, unlearn certain things, step out of specific paradigms, and question everything that can be questioned. Once we understand that we have the power to see things differently, that is when true change happens.

On The Thyroid – Ep. 152
49:34

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade talks about the adrenal and thyroid glands. Our body is in constant flow, and to achieve certain goals, like weight loss for example, it’s a good idea to check some other things besides exercise levels and nutrition. The adrenal and thyroid glands play a huge role in this, and are very affected by other variables like stress, toxins, immune system malfunctioning, etc.

The consequences of this negative impact are the well-known mood disorders. You may feel brain fog, lethargy, a constant tiredness, and other distressing issues like depression and anxiety. Tune in to this episode as Dr. Jade gives you a very thorough contextualization on the thyroid, with scientific data and the most recent information on this topic. On Eating, Tasting, Moving, and Exercise – Ep. 151
32:00

In this episode of Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade talks about the different metabolic states that humans can go through depending on exercise levels, eating choices (quantity of food and quality of food), and overall daily habits. For instance, the most common practice to lose weight is eating less while exercising more, which can be effective – and it is – but only if used for short periods of time. On the same note, metabolism is also affected by stress levels in the body. Metabolism can handle stress, but again, only for short periods of time. It’s important to note that people going through different metabolic states will experience different levels of hunger, cravings, and energy, and each person might get a singular solution for the same problem. Dr. Jade also talks about Satisfaction vs. Satiation and Movers vs. Exercisers.

Sharing his own experience with details, Dr. Jade talks about what the whole situation meant for him, how it somehow allowed old feelings of control and power to surface, what the physical sensations felt like, and what lessons he took from thinking, feeling, and dreaming that way.

In addition, you will also listen to an inspiring discussion on purpose. To find true purpose in life, it’s important to get out of our comfort zone, face fears, and deal with discomfort. Dr. Jade shares the concept of P.O.W.E.R. – meaning: changing Perception, taking Ownership of how we feel, acquiring Wisdom to know how to proceed, Engaging in new stories, and having Resolve to keep trying. On Changing Other People – Ep. 149
31:11

The need for changing other people in fact comes from a very personal perception that we have of ourselves. ‘Why do I want to make this person come right here where I am?’ That is why it’s so important to look at how we are operating and analyze our own actions and behaviors before even trying to dictate how people around us should operate, and what actions and behaviors they should have.

In this episode of Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade talks about the importance of learning from the other person who has the different opinion/thought, instead of trying to change them. Someone who has a different opinion than ours shouldn’t be seen as threatening, but as inspiring. We should always seek opportunities to learn from different visions. That is the first step on our next level human journey.

On Moving Better with Dr. Megan-Marie Delegas - Ep. 148
01:04:13

Movement is one of the most fundamental aspects of living a well-balanced lifestyle. People who exercise regularly, or do some kind of mild activity regularly, or do a combination of both, tend to feel better overall. It’s important, however, to understand where we can improve our range of motion and mobility, what are the factors that influence exercise, and how we can get better at moving, in general.

In this episode of Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade welcomes Dr. Megan-Marie Delegas to discuss the fundamentals and the most important guidelines of movement and exercise. Dr. Delegas explains that nutrition, stress levels, water intake, and sleep quality, all affect how well we move. One of the most important outcomes of learning how to move better, is the subsequent regulation of the nervous system. Tune in to learn more!

On New Years and Change - Ep. 146
46:36

In this episode of Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade speaks about the concept of true change. In order to leave behind who we currently are and become someone we want to be, it’s common to make a list of changes that need to happen, or habits that we must adopt, or new behaviors we need to reproduce, and just try to implement these things daily. None of these matter, if we don’t change inside.

Dr. Jade dives deep into the idea that in order to change, we need to first be the change and really start acting and thinking like the person we want to become. Going about a list of to dos and just hoping for the change to happen is what most people do, and that’s why most people fail to change. Leaving the old person behind will only works if we embody the new one. Tune in to learn more!

On Healing the Inner Child with Jessica Amendola - Ep. 145
55:24

In this episode of Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade and Jessica Amendola discuss the effects of childhood traumas, old wounds, and old memories on the physical body. While most think that bad experiences and traumas can cause psychological harm, is has been proven that the body also suffers. Emotions that don’t move through the body end up stuck, and that impacts the way we live life.

Jessica also explains to the listeners the many signs of trauma (and unreleased trauma). According to her, difficult to create, maintain, and nurture healthy relationships are one of the easiest “symptoms”. Also not being able to express emotions, not being able to cry when needed, and getting easily triggered from daily situations are signs that something inside needs to be healed. On the Pandemic - Ep. 144
01:02:21

The pandemic still is a big source of contrasting ideas and different opinions. The whole world had to have an opinion on whether they were willing to take a vaccine, use a mask, follow all the protocols, etc. These “two sides” make people show their true humanness: Base Level Humans only believe their own opinion; Culture Level Humans care only about their group; Next Level Humans are open to conversation.

In this episode of Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade talks about how our personal opinions and course of action about the pandemic cannot become unquestionable and cannot become our permanent identity. People need to be open to discussion because that’s just what human beings were made for, and while many believe in an idea of ”black and white”, the reality is that there is a lot of gray everywhere, all the time.

On Dating and Social Media with Emily Gough – Ep. 142
49:13

The correlation between dating and social media is more curious than you probably think. People who have an impactful presence online can – and should – be honest about their relationships and romantic status, because the way all of us show up online is the way we show up in real life. Our social media profiles are an extension of our day to day actions so they also require a good amount of integrity and transparency.

In this episode, Dr. Jade and Emily debate all the kinds of do’s and don’ts of social media interactions if there is a relationship going on in our real lives. The online world allows everyone to follow everyone, so it might be confusing to manage the dynamics between ex partners, current partners, potential partners, likes, comments, DMs, and you… amidst it all. On Stress Psychology - Ep. 141
44:49

What is stress in the first place? Stress has two main effects on an individual: a physiological effect and a psychological one. The physiological effect has more well-known symptoms such as irregular breathing, anxious thoughts, feelings of overwhelming, and pretty much anything that throws us off balance. On the other hand, psychological effects include fear, lack of purpose, meaninglessness, and more stress.

As a follow up to the previous episode, Dr. Jade debriefs the perception of stress, and what we could possibly do with the stress levels that impact us through life. Specifically at the current times we are living in, everyone has at least one source of stress that comes up during the day, and it’s important to recognize when it happens. Also important to remember: when we go through situations of stress, our body ends up creating resilience to go through more situations of stress, so stay strong!

On Stress - Ep. 140
01:00:41

Stress is one of the main components that affect our health and metabolism. When stress levels are high enough to the point that it’s harmful, it’s important to identify and understand the origins of the stress. It’s also important to try and find solutions or coping mechanisms that will help lower our stress levels. There are a lot of tactics and strategies that can help to manage stress, it’s only a matter of finding what works best for you.

In this episode, Dr. Jade talks about stress levels and how “too much” or “too little” of anything affects these levels. For example: eating too much can be harmful for you as well as eating too little. Exercising too much is bad for your body, same thing with exercising too little. In addition, Dr. Jade also explains the concept of S.H.M.E.C. (Sleep, Hunger, Mood, Energy, Cravings), how it can be applied as an indicator of stress, and how to add positive types of stress to your routine.

Age Gap Romance with Emily Gough - Ep. 139
01:02:28

Age gap romances have always been surrounded by a lot of stigma in the eyes of society. People involved in a relationship where one is much older than the other are often more susceptible to the opinions and judgments of someone else. Not only that, there are important factors to be taken into account when starting a relationship like that such as differences between life experiences, specific goals in life, and overall lifestyle.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade and Emily Gough analyze these types of romances and relationships between two individuals who don’t have the same age. In order to live an experience with these circumstances, the person involved needs to have some level of confidence, self-consciousness, comfort, and most of all: preparation to deal with potential issues of compatibility.

Women, Food, and Hormones with Dr. Sara Gottfried - Ep. 138
51:47

The debate around weight loss is a very rich one, with a lot of science-based information being added to it all the time and a lot of practical tips from those who have achieved a personal transformation being offered through social media. Despite the foundation of this topic revolving around caloric deficit and caloric surplus, another vital factor which needs to be taken into account is: metabolism.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade interviews Dr. Sara Gottfried to talk about the role that metabolism, metabolic adaptation, and hormones play in a weight loss goal. Individuals that also pay attention to these factors have more understanding on what it takes to eliminate body fat. Dr. Sara also emphasizes that specific diet protocols such as the ketogenic diet can definitely work, but it may vary from person to person. Tune in to learn more!

Self Transformation and Relationships with Christine Hassler - Ep. 137
01:04:09

It’s no secret that our first experiences as a child and the way we expressed feelings at a young age have a major role on how we behave at the present time. Somehow, the patterns we were taught and we reproduced in the past tend to show up consistently if we face similar situations. But how do we get out of this cycle and evolve as a person if we are still the same person? What do we need to do to self-transform and heal?

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade interviews Christine Hassler, coach, speaker and author of “Expectation Hangover: Overcoming Disappointment in Work, Love, and Life”. Christine talks about how we unconsciously keep repeating old patterns both in our personal lives and in relationships. Christine explains that in order to change and become someone free from those traumas, we need to get in touch with our emotions, do the inner work, and really start questioning our beliefs. The Betrayed and Betrayer with Emily Gough - Ep. 136
01:18:25

Relationships are – or at least should be – created and cultivated in the life of two individuals to make all the areas of life easier and more manageable. As long as two people have each other and have a strong bond, the adversities of life become a game for two players. However, when a relationship happens to go through a betrayal, what was supposed to be simple turns into a complex situation, where the two parts (the betrayed and the betrayer) must re-evaluate to understand what happened.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, you will listen to a frank discussion about relationships, how betrayals impact, not only the relationship, but the whole connection between two individuals, and how to begin to understand the causes and the consequences of a situation that involves a person betraying another. More important than being responsible with the circumstances is to accept the lessons and learn from it all. Tune in!

Philosophy of Next Level Human - Ep. 135
44:00

The foundational concept of a Next Level Human can only be understood if these other two concepts are understood as well: Base Level Human and Culture Level Human. The Base Level is always directing his attention to his own desires and the Culture Level maintains his own desires with the acceptance of others, but the Next Level will find his desire only when he finds his purpose. That’s the difference between an individual who, despite adversities, makes an effort to be: true, honest, and selfless.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade takes you through a read of his upcoming book, focusing on the philosophy section where the main idea navigates around what it means to be a Next Level Human. What makes human beings special? What path are human beings meant to choose? How can we go from nothing to something throughout our existence? These are all questions highlighted in this episode and in the text too. Tune in to learn more!

Weight Loss Lies with Robert Davis, PhD - Ep. 134
52:34

Diet philosophies have become very polarizing in recent years. For instance: veganism and vegetarianism, the paleo diet, intermittent fasting, and counting calories are all eating plans that diverge on what is the best option when it comes to weight loss. While there are true concepts on all of them, there are a lot of myths on them as well. The best approach would be: think beyond diets and see what works for you.

Tune in to this episode of the Next Level Human podcast as Dr. Jade talks with Robert J. Davis, PhD; the author of “Supersized Lies,” which revolves around diet philosophies and why people can’t seem to lose weight even with so many popular diets popping up in the industry. Robert advises on a variety of topics such as macronutrient consumption, processed foods, quality and quantity of food, and why demonizing certain groups of foods is not the solution.

On Convenience Eating - Ep. 133
46:45

How can convenience foods be part of a sustainable diet? It is well-known that healthy foods are not a simple option for everyone; either they tend to be more expensive or not as practical. For instance, when grocery shopping the healthy sources of clean proteins and carbohydrates are not the average individual's first choice. On the other hand, convenience foods are extremely easy to find, almost always affordable for everyone, and an undemanding solution for busy days.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade shares a complete guide on convenience based eating. From a health perspective, he explains that by following a few reasonable and realistic rules it is possible to have a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle even if you incorporate convenience foods and fast foods here and there. Stay tuned to learn what the Next Level Human approach to F.A.S.T. F.O.O.D. truly is!

Confident Detachment with Emily Gough – Ep. 132
01:10:05

Join Dr. Jade Teta and Emily Gough in this episode of the Next Level Human podcast as they talk about confident detachment and the idea of controlling only what is in our power to control. The concept of confident detachment involves being aware that how you organically show up in a relationship can be different from how other people show up, and managing your expectations about it to not be frustrated is the first step to preserve yourself and your emotions.

Emily, who is a Coach, Speaker, and Host of the Room to Grow™ podcast, also talks about the distinction between a person, who is romantically involved with someone, having needs (in the sense of wants and desires) and being needy (being overly connected and not functioning alone). In addition, you will learn that we are all multidimensional beings living multidimensional lives so it’s important to eliminate expectations coming from other people because what they do and how they behave is a sole responsibility.

On Male Fertility: Sperm As A "Biomarker" with Khaled Kteily – Ep. 131
37:32

In today’s episode, Dr. Jade sits down with Khaled Kteily to discuss more in depth topics like male fertility, how men can comprehend and improve their own health from this specific perspective, and how his company Legacy has been contributing to this field in a simple and very understandable manner since its foundation. A man’s ability to conceive can be reduced or lost with time – injuries being the number one risk factor – and Legacy was born with the mission to protect and keep this ability, while also checking and giving you a detailed report of your own sperm’s health.

Khaled, who is founder and CEO of Legacy, explains the personal reasons along with the context in which the company was founded and how the process works in terms of sperm analysis and sperm cryostorage. The entire procedure of collection can safely be done at home; after which the kit will be lab tested for specific biomarkers, such as: volume, concentration, and motility and/or saved in storage for the future. On Connection with Dr. Edward Brodkin - Ep. 130
01:11:19

How does human connection relate to being a next level human? Nowadays, our connections with other human beings are the foundation to achieving our next level self. What most people don’t know is that taking care of ourselves first is the initial step to creating meaningful relationships, connecting with other individuals, and truly nurturing those relationships by giving them the attention they deserve.

In this episode of the Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade interviews Dr. Edward Brodkin, co-author of Missing Each Other to talk about how important it is to clear our heads and be aware of our thoughts in order to focus on what the moment calls for. Anxiety and overwhelming feelings really prevent us from connecting with other people because we get so stuck in our own heads that we are unable to create identification. Dr. Edward also touches on topics like meditations, empathy, politics, and setting boundaries for ourselves. Tune in to learn more!

Nutritional Keystones - Ep. 129
33:45

How do we structure a healthy lifestyle that is easy to attain? What are the 3 things you can focus on TODAY in order to create this healthy lifestyle? Sometimes we pay too much attention to things that don’t really matter. When it comes to nutrition and fitness, it is way easier to focus on a few variables that make a huge difference than to focus on a lot of things that create little change.

In this episode of the Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade discusses the importance of having ‘keystones’ (aka: ‘big rocks’) to create effective changes in your nutrition and overall lifestyle. Building out your list of the 3 things to check on a daily basis is enough to achieve results – whatever the results might be for you. As Dr. Jade points out: the key to achieving a goal is not doing more of everything, it’s doing more of what you need to do the most. Tune in!

The Four Existential Crises – Ep. 128
43:57

Dealing with life events and other human beings along the way really makes us face four critical concerns: freedom, loneliness, meaninglessness, and death. In a way, freedom can be a primal cause for anxiety; loneliness is the natural state in which everyone is born with; meaninglessness is what every individual wants to – or should – avoid by living a purposeful life, and death is the ultimate event that makes us want to leave a legacy.

In this episode of the Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade analyzes these four existential crises, how each one of them influences our actions, and how they would eventually modify our existence – for better or for worse – if we take the time to consider and think about each one of them. Managing these crises is a skill that must be strengthened with time, but it’s one more step towards becoming a next level human.

On Blood Sugar Management with Dr. Mary Kellis - Ep. 127
01:05:40

Diabetes and the complications of it are a major cause of death in the U.S. today. One of the main measures a person can take to prevent diabetes is monitoring and learning how to regulate blood sugar levels. While there are specific types of foods to avoid – or at least to pay attention to – the number #1 action to protect yourself and your health from diabetes is a lifestyle change.

In this episode of the Next Level Human Podcast, Dr. Jade talks with Dr. Mary Kellis, Endocrinologist, about what these lifestyle changes encompass and how people can start to be aware of blood sugar in their day to day lives. Dr. Mary highlights the importance of exercising more, diminishing refined sugars, and looking into eating habits in general. Dr. Mary also explains CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) and how much it has been contributing to the research and overall diabetes prevention.

On Metaphysics and Magic with Candy Irven - Ep. 126
01:27:01

We, as humans, are energetic beings: we can feel other people’s energy, we can sense energy emanating from certain environments, we can step into a different type of energy if we feel the need to, and we can manifest all kinds of energies for our life – even without realizing it. We are also receivers of the universe’s energy and it’s our job to learn how to interpret it, convert it into our own inner guide, and fully take advantage of this unseen power.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade sits down with Candy Irven of itsyouguru.com.com, Intuitive Coach, to give you a complete discussion about metaphysics, magic, and all the tools connected to these topics such as astrology, numerology, and cardology. Candy talks about the power of the universe, or higher self, and how it is always trying to talk to you and handle your hidden messages. Candy also explains everything about her work as a coach and how you can start applying these lessons to your learning and self-development journey.

Covid Update: Science, Vaccine and Variants - Ep. 125
46:14

More than one and a half years have passed since the world began facing a contagious and unknown virus; not only affecting people’s health conditions, but also people’s opinions on several matters. The debate now is about pros and cons of taking the vaccine or not taking the vaccine for this virus. While part of society trusts in science and looks only at the data, the other half believes that being immune goes way beyond simply taking a vaccine shot.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade gives you a complete overview on the current situation of COVID in the world, how the new variants can be taken into account, what science has to show in terms of data, and why the debate on pro-vax versus anti-vax is so polarized right now. Dr. Jade also explains that every decision comes with consequences, and whether you are on one side of the debate or the other, you will eventually deal with them.

On Branding & Marketing - Ep. 123
01:05:57

The key aspect of high level success in your online business is to recognize what problem you are trying to solve and constantly work towards the solution. Additional important aspects include: using the right language to attract the right audience; creating a catchy pitch and a smart concept for your brand; gathering leads through free resources; and caring less for social media followers and engagement.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade gives you a complete guide on branding and marketing, showing you the do’s and don'ts of online business, and presenting tips for you to get inspired. Dr. Jade explains that, although it’s important to innovate and to use different resources, the priority should be to create a strong brand, because a strong brand always ends up selling itself.

On Pain & Purpose with Matthew Paetz - Ep. 122
01:05:52

Painful experiences and traumas should not be seen and treated as a competition between two individuals. At an emotional level, no one suffered more than the other. Everybody is equal in their pain and we should use the experience to, in fact, connect and inspire. What other use could possibly be given to pain if not making it the incentive to purpose?

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade sits down with Matthew Paetz to have an inspiring conversation about pain, purpose and encouragement. Matthew talks about his personal trauma and how he used it as a way to support others and normalize other people’s fears. He also explains that trauma in a sense doesn’t understand context, which makes everyone’s suffering just the same.

On Calories - Ep. 121
59:18

In today’s episode, Dr. Jade gives you an overview on calories, how they work and how they impact fat loss practices. While calories can be worked simply by counting them with a food calculator app, it’s important to know yourself first and pay attention to how your body and metabolism uniquely function. How we want to be looking at calories is: they are energy and should be treated alongside a sustained diet.

Dr. Jade also explains the difference between portions of food and the energy density corresponding to that specific food. Different portions of food have different numbers of calories and they don’t always match, for example, a super small portion of granola has a super high number of calories in it. By underestimating this equation people end up counteracting any progress during their fat loss journey.

What Workout Should I Do? - Ep. 120
39:26

When we think about starting a fat loss process, the first thing that comes to mind is: “I should exercise more.” This concept has been a staple in the fitness industry for years, which makes it an incontestable truth to many. However, in terms of a fat loss phase, more recent research reveals that exercise programs work less than we think they do: it’s fundamental to maintain a weight loss phase, but not very useful if you’re just getting started.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade explains the details about the research on TDEE levels, metabolism and all the variables involved. When it comes to initiating a fat loss or weight loss phase the main focus should be calorie reduction, more movement (like light cardio, leisure walk) and slowly increasing our weight training sessions during the week.

On Emotional Freedom - Ep. 119
01:00:37

We are entirely responsible for our emotions. In fact, our feelings and behaviors are the only aspects of life we can fully control. However, in order for that to be true, we must detach ourselves from expecting, supposing, and assuming. By following this practice and trying not to make assumptions we find emotional freedom. But aren’t assumptions the way we respond to the world?

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade points out that “emotions are like road signs, always pointing you in certain directions”. The way we deal with everything is derived from our emotional responses, which happen to be derived from our emotional past. To choose how to respond to situations is to have emotional freedom, but emotional mature choices only come from emotional mature minds.

Living Metabolic Putting the Metabolism First - Ep. 118
53:37

When it comes to what is healthy and what is not people tend to go to extremes. With so many opinions out there, we forget to look to our “inner guide”: the metabolism. Our metabolism is speaking to us all the time, but we have a hard time listening to it and because human beings are so different from one another; listening to it matters.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade takes the topic of metabolism to the next level! Living a metabolic life – meaning: letting the metabolism guide you, not other people’s opinions – is super important. Forgetting the new research, the guru on social media, the articles on the internet and focusing on you will eventually lead you to a more healthy and balanced life.

The 4 Untruths: Changing Our Stories to Change the World - Ep. 117
47:25

Have you heard of seed stories? They might come from stories we were told when we were kids, from common sense, or they may be universal beliefs passed on to us throughout the years. In any case, we all carry truths inside of us that we believe to be undeniable facts. It is difficult to unravel these truths due to the possibility of finding out that they are false, but a necessary step toward self-development; toward, eventually, making the world a better place.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade analyzes the 4 untruths we tend to consider cold facts: “I am special,” “I deserve,” “Life is fair,” “Death is bad.” However, if you change your relationship with these stories, you free yourself up from the suffering caused by these stories. Tune in if you’re ready to learn why freeing yourself from false truths allows you to embrace true ones.

Each one of us has unique talents, different pursuits in life and singular philosophies that rule our personality. These multifaceted characteristics come from three kinds of humans living inside us: the Base Level Human, a self-centered, more egotistical human; the Culture Level Human, the one looking for acceptance and status; and the Next Level Human, a kind of human whose purpose is always growth.

In this episode of the Next Level Human podcast, Dr. Jade explains the difference between all of them and what role they play as we get through life. In addition, you will also learn the four rules for treating others and why honesty is always kinder than kindness. Tune in!

Sustainability & Stewardship in Health and Fitness with Autumn Smith - Ep. 115
53:55

Health and fitness are two topics whose relation to food is highly important. After all, what we put inside our bodies on a daily basis directly impacts how we feel – and even what we think. Not only that, food also has a correlation with quality of life and mental health issues. When choosing what to eat, choose wisely, because your body function depends on it.

In this episode, Dr. Jade and guest Autumn Smith talk about the importance of making ourselves a priority when it comes to our eating habits. Our own wellbeing is what we should be paying attention to when choosing a proper eating lifestyle for ourselves. That’s how Autumn envisions her mission and why she strongly implements this concept into her company: Paleovalley.

On Looking Good: The Art & Science Of Fat Loss - Ep. 114
52:09

Let’s talk about fitness, one of the most important things to do is define your goal. This goal oftentimes impacts the way we look, the way we feel, how long we live and how well we function. In this episode, Dr. Jade explains the importance of focusing on one specific thing at a time because: “the metabolism doesn’t like to multitask”.

He also highlights the main points of fat loss, the difference between fat loss and weight loss, the types of workouts we should maintain when trying to lose fat, and the role that cardio and nutrition play in this process. According to Dr. Jade, it’s not enough to just go out and exercise for it to ‘be fitness’; in fact, if your goal is weight loss, exercising too much can get in the way of that goal. In addition, you will learn the contrast between a higher carbohydrate/lower fat diet, a lower carbohydrate/higher fat diet and how to maintain protein high in both cases. Either way one thing is true: we’re all different individuals so the approach will inevitably change.

Metabolism and the Gut with Dr. Mary Pardee - Ep. 113
01:07:39

When we think about the significance of food for our overall health we almost immediately think about the type of food, right? This external source that goes into our body is relevant, but what if we also began analyzing what happens inside of the body? The immune system, digestive system, metabolism and gut health are all connected. In fact, even other systems and organs can be affected by the importance we give to the way we feed ourselves. The human body is a concise group of mechanisms working together and learning more about it is a ‘next level’ step towards our wellbeing.

In this episode, Dr. Jade welcomes Dr. Mary Pardee in a conversation all about metabolism and the gut. Dr. Mary explains the concept of microbiomes, probiotics, food sensitivity tests and supplements like digestive enzymes. You will also learn more about day to day actions that you can practice – such as 12-hour fasting – to improve gut health, mindset shifts involving mindful eating and fear around food, and the idea behind “Metabolic Rehab”.

What exactly is being true to one’s self? Today, Dr. Jade has you ask yourself that question. In this episode he focuses on evolving, from base level humans and culture level humans to next level humans. He explains that if we live our life by ‘staying true’ to our teenage self we will not be able to mature or change as we grow and experience life’s challenges. Dr. Jade teaches us that true authenticity is living with the idea of becoming a better, future, version of ourselves by finding purpose. He challenges you to take your suffering and pain and level up through your very own ‘hero’s journey’!

Protein, Fiber, and Water - Ep. 84
27:47

Three things that are often misunderstood in natural health and nutrition; protein, fiber, and water. In this episode, Dr. Jade reviews useful ways to look at nutritional regimes that help us obtain and/or maintain our optimal body composition. Optimizing the ratio of fat mass to muscle mass is achieved by managing hunger and cravings but is often easier said than done. Even the best training routine can be undone by losing control of hunger, overeating, and sacrificing nutritional integrity. Weight loss is not the only maker for health, though! Looking and feeling our best are two pieces to the longevity puzzle of life.

CBD: The Facts and The Future - Ep. 73
42:30

Today on Next Level Human, join Dr. Jade Teta as he talks about a topic that many experts are afraid to explore: the endocannabinoid system. Although there has been significant research on this topic over the last decade, many are still afraid to take a stance on CBD and other exogenous cannabinoids. Some of this hesitation can be explained by the multitude of wide-reaching (and sometimes contradictory effects) and some is a result of personal bias and politics. Let’s see if we can shed more light on this topic during this episode.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

What are cannabinoids? The true benefits (as we know them today) of CBD and other exogenous cannabinoids and some of their potential drawbacks. A history of what we know and what we don’t about this field. Where are current research efforts focused? Where are the next breakthroughs likely to happen? Although much of the story is still developing, there are some exciting conclusions we can make from what is already known. Stay tuned!

How to Have Positive Political Discussions - Ep. 71
51:37

Today on Next Level Human, join Dr. Jade Teta as he talks about having positive political discussions. In the middle of the COVID crisis and the Black Lives Matter movement, people with differing opinions clash, resulting in stressful situations. Jade gets into how we can avoid these situations. Remember, it’s not about being the smartest and winning debates!

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • The three levels of knowledge. There are things that we don’t know that we don’t know!
  • Dangers of deciding that you’ve already made up your mind. Consider what other people have to say.
  • The less we know, the more we think we know. The more we know, the more we realize that we don’t know.
  • Confirming the reliability of opinions through science, journalism, or media. Even if everyone has biases, there are still ways to validate different claims.
  • Not getting emotionally triggered and not pushing people into “argument mode.” What words and phrases should you avoid?
  • And more!
