Stories are interesting, but the narration is horrible. She tries to sound dramatic, but she elongates words oddly in a 'breathy fashion'. This has the effect of sounding like she is trying to seduce you half the time, the other half makes it sound like she is enjoying and happy at the horrible incidents she is describing. Please give her a voice coach.

subject matter right up my street, but the narrator's going to take some getting used to, half the time she sounds like a tape recorder on fast forward 😱

the narrator draws out some words for what seems like dramatic effect, which, when speaking about sensitive topics, comes off as disrespectful.

Description

American Shadows is a bi-weekly podcast from iHeartRadio and Aaron Mahnke’s Grim & Mild. The show focuses on the darker stories from American history: the people, places, and things that are hidden and forgotten in the shadows. From better-known tales like the conspiracy to steal Lincoln’s body, to less-known stories, like the rainmaker who flooded San Diego.
