Recycled storyline lazy ending

Sure, good acting, excellent soundscape, but my god the laziest writing I've heard in a long time. Copied directly from planet of the apes. Or any other lazy time travel event. Totally unimaginative on every level. move along on this one.

Description

A famed lost spaceship, the USS HOPE, returns to Earth after vanishing thirty-five years prior. The lone survivor (Richard Madden) disembarks mysteriously​ looking the exact same age as when he left​.
