Content was good but the narration sounded awkward and unrehearsed with a lot of distracting audible pauses.

very interesting podcast

Not bad, but not good

While the production quality is good, the general narrative and individual stories just didn't grab me. Simply didn't appeal to me the way the trailer suggested it would.

Narrator ruins it for me

Enjoyed it. Felt I got to know Mr. A and how this project consumed those around him.

Not bad. Not good. It really goes nowhere and grasps at an attachment to True Crime that is smoke and mirrors.

episode 5 of 6 and I still don't feel hooked. Like listening to a story that could be great instead you're floating on a lazy river dreaming of something better.

Really enjoying the pace and narration, the subject matter is tense but incredibly interesting

Narration should have been done by a professional journalist, would have been better off having the wife interviewed instead. Ads really break immersion. Audio of calls could be better. Story is very intriguing. Cons outweigh pros here.

audio quality is terrible
 Jan 23, 2021
so the audio mixing is terrible, it's very hard for you to understand what anyone is saying in the phone. the woman's voice gets REALLY LOUD randomly..and her reading her ad revenue script in the middle are soooooooo long, especially because her voice hurts your ears. it's lot soothing and it sorta hurts. shame because this could have been a great story.

Description

If you could call a number and say you’re sorry, and no one would know…what would you apologize for? For fifteen years, you could call a number in Manhattan and do just that. This is the story of the line, and the man at the other end who became consumed by his own creation. He was known as “Mr. Apology.” As thousands of callers flooded the line, confessing to everything from shoplifting to infidelity, drug dealing to murder, Mr. Apology realized he couldn’t just listen. He had to do something, even if it meant risking everything. From Wondery the makers of Dr. Death and The Shrink Next Door, comes a story about empathy, deception and obsession. Marissa Bridge, who knew Mr. Apology better than anyone, hosts this six episode series.Listen to The Apology Line ad-free on Wondery+ in the Wondery App, Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
