Episode Date
S2E45 - Ice Storms, Badass Willows, & Gallery Hopping
00:57:58

Boondocking alone in the wild west desert can be challenging at times.  This is one of them.  But I have food, lights, heat, and healthy animals.  And my willow trees seem impervious to an ice storm.

The Zombie Permaculture podcast is the story of me running for the hills, even though the hills may have eyes, to turn 5 desert acres into a permaculture oasis.

S2E43 - Freeze Recovery
00:25:09
In this episode I give an account of what the 7° freeze did to the trees and plants on my land as well as those inside my RV when all hell broke loose in my systems. I talk about tree recovery and getting the power, warer, and heat back on, and bring up a potential building project I may be able to begin, with skilled help. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S2E41 - Cowboys & Contours
00:32:15
In this episode I share some awesome earthwork developments, getting rescued by a cowboy after my power went out, and finally having my van back after three weeks stranded alone in the desert. Somehow four out of five live plants survived three weeks at the post office, and I am implementing some new strategies I'm learning from local old timer knowledge in terms of protecting trees from something I hadn't considered prior. S2E40 - Zombe Apocalypse Insurance & Lateral Swales Off Gully
00:25:01
In this episode, I talk about the normally boring topic of insurance and then share how I started digging my first lateral swale and berm system off the main gully. First I dreamed about pulling at least some of all that amazing water out of the erosion gully out into my property.  Then I got a bunch of other tasks off my metaphorical desk, which allowed me to dream up some creative thoughts.  Afterward, it was a matter of going over to check out whether my idea had any feasibility.  And finally, my intention to take the weekend off from working on the food forestry course I am developing allowed me to devote my energy to walking outside with a shovel.  The results so far are far more than I ever hoped all this past year.   Running for the hills, even though the hills may have eyes, to turn 5 far west Texas acres into a permaculture oasis. To talk with the prior Marine about why zombie apocalypse insurance is bad and how to get thousands in claim money without increasing your premiums or losing your policy text 432-410-3004. S2E36 - Psychic Dreaming, Military Intelligence, & Zombies
01:06:25

Here I have another bonus episode for you involving a recent iteration of a recurring dream that ended up being prescient with regard to a recent Q drop. The intel this time was about protecting our DNA. Amazing stuff. The first episode of this season's vlog on YouTube was corrupted and the footage unrecoverable but S2E2 is up. About five of the oak trees are in-ground but I have been stranded this week after two rear shocks detached so the willows are likely perishing at the post office.

S2E35 - 100 Trees in Year 1, Course Build-Out, & Berries
00:28:13

I this episode I mark the establishment of 70 trees with 23 more going in the ground hopefully before it freezes. Even with super low water application, survival rate is leagues better than my initial attempt. I have three or four types of berries growing as well. The first guests inspired half of the additional trees by making privacy a now not a someday issue. It's a short episode because my battery ran out, so enjoy your yummy turkey or whatever you'll be eating tomorrow and I am thankful for you.

S2E33 - Food Sovereignity, Fall Planting, & Time In A Hammock
00:41:44

Getting plants in the ground before the satanic nut jobs of the global banking industry and their criminally insane friends in government take over the global food supply is going fairly well this Fall. 😂 I also have done some rock work in the road berms while continuing to plant trees and have pulled the trigger on 10 more pines I'll be using in the barren parts of my property with long-term wicking irrigation. I'll be quite busy over the next two months preparing for both a jewelry runway show and a two-dimensional gallery show in January. I finally found the mysterious tech issue with the funnel I'm building.

00:43:32

00:49:53
In this bonus episode I walk up to the check dam to watch the sunset reflect on the water while four wild ducks swim around in the wake of two overnight rainstorms. I touch on social permaculture a bit more, note the synchronicity and prescience related to creatures showing up on my path and the Cosmic hydrology touchdown I witnessed last week. I talk a little bit about geopolitical dramatists and their local microcosmic analog and wrap with mention of a course I'm working on to guide people expertly through the creation of a food forest. S2E27 - Fall Monsoon, 4 Wheel Mudding, & BnB Getting Close
00:53:04
This episode is an exciting update about the summer monsoon extending into Fall to offer an ideal planting opportunity. Indeed I have a lot of little trees coming up where I sowed seeds several months ago. More experimentation and modification of swale and burn systems, the status of crops planted this summer and observations of other plants, and the installation of shade trees and native shrubs intersects a four wheeling adventure in the mud. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S2E9 - BREAKING: Traffickers Next Door? Border Patrol Alerted.
00:29:34
I decided to do a bonus episode because of breaking news today. I was gone all day but fortunately left my dog at home. Two strange vehicles showed up right next door to me on the unoccupied property with a shade structure and water tank on it. Both vehicles have tags expired at least two years. Two male neighbors, including an active-duty police officer and Vietnam vet, checked it out and asked other neighbors, who said there have been tresspassings and theft in the neighborhood lately. Inreported plates and tags to border patrol, along with GPS coordinates. The vehicles plates were run by the police officer and belong to a man in town but, unless he owns the property, parking ramdom vehicles there is trespassing and there is the issue of the vehicles being expired, not to mention he didn't even leave a note with any of us. My gut told me last night traffickers are likely using abandoned water and shade as drop points for mobilizing illegals moving through the area on foot. I pray I am mistaken, but with the extreme border crisis I'd rather be safe than sorry. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Many trees were planted, the wick technology I invested in before coming out to the desert revealed itself more fully to me, birds sang, my first BnB camper got sited, and plants in the way got transplanted. I scored century plants at a flea market, and I potted up a huge number of trooper rooted cuttings using a mixture of amendments and native dirt from my land. In this episode I talk about what has been mislabeled as politics but is really stuff we all need and deserve to know, what I've been going through owning a dog, and what I've accomplished despite both of the previous topics in renovating the RV 1 month before its trip out to my land. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S1E13 - Seeds, Survey, & Shatterproofing
00:31:05
The survey has been completed for my property, and I've shatterproofed the exterior windows of the RV. I also experienced a personal revelation that my intuition to save seeds is exactly what Masanobu Fukuoka suggests to re-green desertified land. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S1E11 - Physics & A Chandelier
00:40:21
The closet of the RV, which will force me to go through what participants of the show Tiny House Nation are asked to do in order to downsize, is now more or less ready for garments. Surprisingly, my two end tables fit perfectly side by side under the rack to create three new levels of storage. The drawer faces now have beautiful hardware and tropical paper with trim. I built an RV sized chandelier while keeping the dog in over lunch. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S1E10 - Table Install & Drill Bit Intuition
00:46:35
In this episode I talk about getting the new table installed, including all the little solutions that make up what seemed on the surface like a simple project. I share how I intuitively figured out the expert method of getting wood out of a circular drill bit. And I describe what comes next in the RV renovation. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S1E9 - RV Reno: Reuse + Land Defense Sneak Peek
01:00:44
To me every little miracle matters a great deal. I consider a miracle to be finding a scrap of flooring thought to have been thrown away at the exact right time to be able to put it to use where it turns out I need it. There are big miracles too, those in this case involving the defense of the land itself, which I will elaborate in a future podcast episode but at which I hint in this one. Today during the reno project I built an impromptu floor and finished the seat cubbies for the table area. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S1E8 - Spray Foam Insulation & A Construction Tornado
00:55:08
In this episode I catch you up on my experience using spray foam to insulate the cabinetry and storage compartments of the RV, working with various contractors, and strategizing different projects in the RV so I can utilize certain areas for staging once they are completed. All this in the midst of what looks like the debris field of a tornado. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S1E7 - Shade and Water
00:28:26
A mich bigger shade structure than the previous sellers offered but could not deliver is now on schedule for end of December on the land I bought. Two 2500 gallon water tanks have also been miraculously sourced amd purchased and will be set up to capture storm precipitation from the steel roof. The first batch of shower tiles are installed, and more are coming to go up after ceramic insulation is resupplied. So much is happening! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

In this episode I talk about the ongoing miraculous unfolding of events and circumstances surrounding my adventure of buying land in the desert to transform into a permaculture oasis. I also get artistic with insulation and veer ever so slightly into heavily censored subject matter. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

S1E2 - RV Reno Projects Galore
00:45:23
I keep finding myself sort of wandering out to the RV parked in my driveway..prompted by some unseen but wise force..that knows I'll end up in there for 4 hours. It's okay, because all sorts of progress happens. This past few weeks a busted loft panel became salvaged kitchen shelves, spare wood, and a beefed-up platform for the second most comfortable mattress of my life. In this episode, I share the evolution of these projects and others like them, as I navigate a con artist slumlord and a slow-moving contract review. All on my way to transform five desert acres into a permaculture oasis. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

00:35:43
After six months of intense place research plus a week of anxiety, I finally got word that my land purchase is happening.
