It’s the Finale of the podcast and we’re discussing the Finale of “Station Eleven.” There are plenty of heartbreaking goodbyes and emotional reunions to discuss and the importance of the fork in the road. In our last episode, our hosts Angelica Jade Bastién (Vulture) and Patrick Somerville (Station Eleven) are joined by Dan Romer (Station Eleven Composer) and David Eisenberg (Station Eleven Producer and Editor). Listen as they reveal the challenges of creating a show in a pandemic and the intricacies of cutting between times in our story. Episode 109 “Dr. Chaudhary” with Emily St. John Mandel and Jessica Rhoades

The job is having the courage to bear witness to death, the courage to be there, and Jeevan Chaudhary is ready to take on the job as a healer. Episode 109 of “Station Eleven” not only revealed what happened to Jeevan, but it also gave a lot of hope in a world that was devastated by a pandemic as we see pregnant women give birth to their children in a new and confusing world. In this episode of the podcast, Angelica and Patrick are joined by Jessica Rhoades (Executive producer of Station Eleven) and Emily St. John Mandel (author of the novel and source material, “Station Eleven”). Jessica reveals insights into the creative choices around the big birthing scene and Emily shares her honest thoughts on the differences between her novel and the show.

When Kirsten tracks down a wounded David and his Undersea, she agrees to join them on their journey to the Museum of Civilization. On this episode of the podcast, hosts Angelica Jade Bastién (Vulture) and Patrick Somerville (“Station Eleven” Show Runner/Creator) are joined by Costume Designer Helen Huang. Helen shares how she crafted and shaped the look of the Undersea children and the unexpected places from which she drew inspiration for Dr. Eleven’s spacesuit. We also learn how she approaches characters’ looks as they evolve in a storyline and the challenges of costuming a show in the middle of a real-life pandemic.

Episode 105 “Severn City Airport” with Ruth Ammon

Episode 105 of “Station Eleven” gave us a major plot twist and revealed not everything is what it appears to be. This week, Angelica and Patrick dig into the big reveal of this episode and share which character they identify with most. They’re joined by head of production design for “Station Eleven,” Ruth Ammon who shares behind-the-scenes secrets about how she conceives of and creates entire worlds, where she finds inspiration and what it’s like to build an entire airport in pieces.
