Lexi Hensler: Destigmatize the Conversation
3010
After returning from a long European trip, your hosts are thrilled to be back in the interview chair talking to social media star and mental health advocate, Lexi Hensler. Lexi is open about her struggles with anxiety and depression from a very young age and talks to the Lautners about what helps her manage it all. She also talks about her bucket list, something she came up with when she was in the hospital with an infection that resulted in organ failure and a panic attack disorder. Lexi is out to destigmatize the conversation around mental health, and one of the amazing ways she is doing that is through her weighted stuffed animal company, Hugz. Lexi talks about her biggest goal for the company, discusses her relationship with social media, and shares her love for Oprah. Plus, the three bond over their love of dogs and the value they bring to your life, especially on the hard days. Lexi’s message is loud and clear: please keep holding on and know it does get better. If you find yourself struggling with your mental health, please reach out for help. You can find various resources here.

In this episode, the Lautners are joined by #1 podcaster Nick Viall and his fiancée Natalie Joy for an incredibly vulnerable conversation about their relationship and their experience with therapy. First, they discuss their recent visit to NYC, where they recreated their first date, as well as their first impressions of one another and any “red flags" they were cautious of. Natalie, like Tay, works in healthcare (as a surgical technician) and wasn't in the spotlight prior to her relationship with Nick. They discuss the scrutiny that comes from dating someone in the public eye and supporting someone struggling with their mental health. Nick and Natalie also share the value they’ve found in couples therapy to help them stay connected, and Natalie opens up about past traumas resurfacing and her experience with EMDR therapy. Lastly, your hosts ask Nick what it is about his podcast that explains its remarkable success. The Squeeze team would like to sincerely thank Nick and Natalie for being so vulnerable, and we hope Natalie’s story inspires someone out there to reach out for help.

Nastia Liukin: A Fall, Not a Fail
4708
Olympic champion Nastia Liukin joins the Lautners to discuss rebuilding yourself after success at a young age and the pressure that comes with competing at the highest level of a sport centered around perfection. Despite being gymnasts themselves, Nastia’s parents tried everything to keep her away from the sport, but her passion and talent were undeniable. Nastia talks about the effects of achieving her “life-long” dream at age 18 and the years trying to find her identity following her “retirement”. She speaks to her 2007 injury and the toll it took on her confidence, as well as falling on her face—a fall she calls the defining moment of her career, and a fall that earned her a standing ovation for the first time. Nastia also discusses her time on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, and talks about the Nastia Liukin Cup, an annual competition offering gymnasts an opportunity to be mentored and to feel proud of their accomplishments—a joy Nastia says shouldn’t be reserved for just the 5 girls on the Olympic team.

Hyram Yarbro: Pain Demands to Be Felt
3929
TW: restrictive eating disorder, self-harm, suicidal ideation
At a quick glance, you may recognize Hyram Yarbro as a skincare influencer, popular on YouTube and TikTok. After today’s conversation, we believe you’ll see him as so much more. Coming from a career in the makeup industry as a skincare specialist, cosmetic salesman, and makeup artist, Hyram had a real grasp on what people were spending their money on, as well as the lack of education for the regular consumer. Today, he opens up about his childhood trauma, including not being accepted by his family for being gay. This experience led him to face mental health challenges, but he is grateful for it nonetheless, as it made him stronger. He explains how his childhood was experienced through a survivalist mindset, and once he finally stepped away, he truly felt the magnitude of his pain. As John Green wrote, “pain demands to be felt.” Hyram also shares what prompted him to start his skincare brand and the importance to him of doing something in the industry that would create a philanthropic affect. His products have a direct and measurable social impact. To date, he has been able to protect over 300, 000 acres of rainforest from deforestation and provide over 8, 000 people with clean water—for 50 years. This conversation radiates with love and kindness, and we hope you will join us in supporting Hyram’s incredible efforts.

Cassie Randolph: Being a Private Public Person
3668
Today’s episode of The Squeeze feels like grabbing coffee with an old friend. Taylor was busy this day so Tay caught up with Bachelor star Cassie Randolph, who she’s actually never met! The Lautners are friends with her sister, Michelle, and knew they’d love Cassie just the same. Cassie opens up about going through such a public breakup, and the two discuss going from living a normal life to being thrust into the public eye. Cassie shares that she was naive going into reality TV, and that social media has been the biggest adjustment for her, hearing mean comments directly, and feeling them personally. She speaks about having her family as her support system after the show, and the denim line she created with her sister, LNDN (named after her brother). She shares her biggest takeaway as a new entrepreneur, and also shares what she’s hoping to do in the field of speech pathology. With this being our 11th episode, the two wrap up by tackling the Lemon 11!

Sadie Robertson Huff: Friend of Fear
4746
At such a young age, today’s guest has already accomplished more than most do in their entire life. Sadie Robertson Huff rose to fame on her family’s reality show, Duck Dynasty, followed by finishing runner-up on Dancing with the Stars. She joins your hosts to discuss her journey battling fear and anxiety. Sadie speaks to the stress of living a hypocritical lifestyle—one where she looks perfect on social media but struggles with herself and her romantic relationship. Knowing God was with her, Sadie began to push back on her fears and went viral with a stripped-down YouTube video showing the world who she really was, "imperfections" and all. Sadie also opens up to the Lautners about motherhood: how it has helped her with things like body image but how new things, like mom guilt, have been challenging. She shares the story behind the name of one of her books and her ministry, Live Original, and then one of our Lemon 11 questions exposes the story behind her podcast name, WHOA That’s Good. For Sadie, so many things in her life changed when she learned to not let fear call the shots. We hope that this episode inspires you to lean into your fear and Live Original — just like Sadie.

Alyson Stoner: Stepping Away from the Industry
4738
Cheaper by the Dozen fans and dancers... this one’s for you. Finally having the chance to reconnect, Taylor introduces Tay to Alyson Stoner, and the two discuss their time working together and growing up in the industry. Alyson explains how there was no way for her to understand the long-term implications as a child, including how parts of her did not get a chance to fully develop. She shares how the industry affected how she understood connection: what became to her a cycle of a deep bond, followed repeatedly by a “deep break”. Tay, our resident optimist, asks Alyson if there is something about the industry she loves, which pivots the conversation to her relationship with dance and movement. She dives into what dance means to her and what she hopes to achieve through Movement Genius, her all in 1 subscription platform that takes care of your mind, body, and emotions. Alyson also speaks to what wellness means to her, and how she’s hoping to offer a space for wellness in the most authentic, inclusive fashion. At the end of this episode, we learn that if Alyson could go back in time, she would alter the course of her life and never have entered the spotlight. Would Taylor do the same? Tune in to find out.

Brandon & Serene: Losing Family and Finding Each Other
4861
Like the rest of America, Tay and Taylor instantly feel in love with Paradise couple Brandon and Serene, and knew they needed to have them on the podcast. This week, they join the Lautners to discuss their mental health before and during filming. Brandon talks about his experience hiring for travel nurse recruiting during COVID, and the toll that took on his mental health. He also opens up about losing a very close friend and his grandfather. While he acknowledges that society encourages men to push down and cover up their feelings, he and the Lautners are here to change that narrative. Serene opens up about the loss of her grandma, aunt, and cousin, and why her 1 on 1 date in Galveston brought up so many emotions. Brandon and Serene also touch on the pressure they feel to stay together and what they do when life hands them lemons … which may be different than you think!

Hannah Brown: Opening the Scary Closet
4261
This week your hosts welcome their first guest … Hannah Brown! They kick off the episode with a new segment, Cit-rus (sh*t-just) Got Real, and then dive into Hannah’s experience releasing her book, God Bless This Mess: Learning to Live and Love Through Life’s Best (and Worst) Moments. Hannah explains that the first time she was really asked about her feelings was when she was on The Bachelor, and while that was a great experience for her, being The Bachelorette was much more challenging. Hannah also presents her metaphor of the “scary closet” as she’s working on organizing and processing what has impacted her throughout her life. Taylor Lautner: Fame is a Drug
3359
TW: body dysmorphia
In this episode, Tay Lautner interviews her husband and co-host, actor Taylor Lautner, as the two discuss growing up in the limelight, body image, and men’s mental health. They touch on Taylor’s hiatus from the entertainment industry and explain why fame felt like a drug to him; one that would be healthier to abstain from, but would be rough before it got better. All of his wife Tay's experiences with mental health struggles prior to her own were with men in her life, so it is important to both of your hosts to destigmatize and openly discuss men’s mental health. In particular, the two touch on body image battles, an issue often attributed to only women, and offer words of encouragement for the men out there struggling. Lastly, Taylor tackles the Lemon 11 segment, during which he opens up about his massive misinterpretation of “that” moment at the 2009 VMAs. When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze — we talk about it.

Introducing: The Squeeze
102
Host Taylor Lautner's (no, not that guy, but she is married to that guy) introduction to mental health was at a young age, witnessing friends and family suffer in ways she couldn't fully understand. She started a nursing career in the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic and has been struggling with her own depression, anxiety, and PTSD ever since. Tay is joined by co-host, husband Taylor Lautner, in addition to celebrity and expert guests to further the conversation surrounding mental wellness. When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze—we talk about it.
