FWD: The Night Post
20:24
The Night Post is a weekly supernatural fiction podcast about conscripted mail couriers. Follow @NightPostPod on Twitter and TheNightPost on Tumblr. Find out more about the show at nightpostpod.com. In this episode, Nicholas rides along with Milo for his evaluation, but their delivery to a possessive house is anything but routine. Content warning for loud noises, disembodied voices, and a death mention. The transcript for this episode is here. See the bottom of the shownotes for a transcript of Tal's introduction at the top of the episode. This episode was written and produced by Tyler Anderson, and features him as Milo. Ethan Thomason is the voice of Nicholas. Music composed by Ethan Thomason. Transcript of the intro: Hi, I'm Tal Minear, executive producer of Re: Dracula. I'm here today to tell you about another audio drama I think you'd like. It's called The Night Post, and it's a weekly supernatural fiction podcast created by an all-queer team! In Gilt City, conscripted couriers are both respected and shunned. They inhabit the borderlands between a growing industrial society and the untamed, arcane frontier that surrounds it. What begins as Milo’s search for his missing husband becomes the couriers’ journey to save themselves and uncover the secrets of the organization that chose them. I adore the concept of a conscription mail service, and the mysteries set up in the first episode are incredibly juicy as well. Keep listening for a standalone episode of the show. Hosted on Acast. FWD: Someone Dies In This Elevator
12:13
Our first feed drop! We'll be periodically sharing audio dramas we think fans of Re: Dracula will also like. I hear there's an oncoming droughtula, and hopefully you can fill your podcatcher with other great shows. Someone Dies in this Elevator is spoiler-driven anthology podcast where there is always an elevator and someone always dies in it - but everything else is different. Follow @SDITEpod on Instagram, Tumblr, & Twitter. Find out more about the show at sditepod.com. In this episode, some stone doors aren't meant to be opened, and some ropes aren't meant to be pulled. South of Palenque contains racism in academia, the consequences of genocidal colonization, and death in an elevator. The transcript for this episode is here. See the bottom of the shownotes for a transcript of Tal's introduction at the top of the episode. Cast: Felix Trench (he/him) as The Professor. Andrew Siañez-De La O (he/they) as Manny. Crew: Written by Andrew Siañez-De La O (he/they). Directed by Colin J. Kelly (he/him). Script Editing by Jesse Schuschu (he/they). Dialogue Editing by Amador Rodriguez (he/him). Sound Design, Scoring, and Mastering by Tal Minear (they/them). Special thanks to Brad Colbroock for the whistling! Transcript of the intro: Hi, I'm Tal Minear, executive producer of Re: Dracula. I'm here today to tell you about another audio drama I think you'd like. It's called Someone Dies In This Elevator, and it's a spoiler-driven anthology podcast where there is always an elevator and someone always dies in it - but everything else is different. I'm the showrunner and one of the sound designers for the show, so if you like the audio production of Re: Dracula, I think you'll like it in Someone Dies In This Elevator too. You'll also catch some of our voice actors in a few of the episodes, including Beth Eyre, Giancarlo Herrera, and Felix Trench. Because it's an anthology show, you can drop in on any episode in any order. My personal favorite episode is South of Palenque, where we hear Felix Trench as a professor investigating a Mayan tomb. What could go wrong? Stay tuned to find out. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. |

Hannah sits down with Dr. Jen Sudgen to discuss the ideals Victorian Class and Gender, and how they come across in Dracula. Bonus 1: Hot Vampire Hunters in Your Area!
43:18
In our first bonus episode, Hannah sits down with two vampire hunters in a very serious interview exploring the real life implications of real life vampires. This episode was hosted by Hannah Wright and edited by Tal Minear. The transcript was done by Rook Mogavero. As you can tell from the publish date of this episode, there is no joking or shenanigans here. None at all. The transcript is at bit.ly/redracbonus1. Are we far enough into the show notes yet? Look away if you haven't listened to the episode yet! Alright... April Fools! I suspect you caught on, but these are not real life vampire hunters. Or vampires. We think. In this silly bonus episode, Helvetica was played by Brooke Jennett, a brilliant voice actor and producer on the excellent horror anthology podcast Thirteen (fans of horrifying audio drama, you have to check it out). Drakkon was played by Mason Amadeus, cohost of the nonfiction podcast Digital Folklore, and one third of the hilarious comedy show PodCube (if you want more ridiculous improv like this episode, PodCube’s the show for you). Our serious bonus episodes will start, along with the first of our letters from our good friend Jonathan Harker, on May 3. (There will also be more silly bonus episodes like this one, don't worry!) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. |

SEWARD: 11 October, evening - Jonathan Harker has asked me to note this… as he says he is hardly equal to the task, and he wants an exact record kept. I think none of us were surprised when we were asked to see Mrs. Harker a little before the time of sunset. We have of late come to understand that sunrise and sunset… VAN HELSING: 25 September, 6 o’clock - Dear Madam Mina, … I have read your husband’s so wonderful diary. You may sleep without doubt. Strange and terrible as it is, it is true! I will pledge my life on it... LUCY: 24 August - I must imitate Mina and keep writing things down. … Then we can have long talks when we do meet. I wonder when it will be. I wish she were here with me again... QUINCEY: 25 May - My dear Art, we’ve told yarns by the camp-fire in the prairies; and dressed one another’s wounds... JOHNATHAN HARKER: 3 May. Bistritz - I had for dinner, or rather supper, a chicken done up some way with red pepper. (Mem.: get recipe for Mina).
