We’re Halcyon and Lauren and we’re two sisters with a passion for literature and acquiring knowledge. Lauren is an accomplished author and Halcyon is a licensed clinician. We both grew up in the same home but our taste in books couldn’t be any more different. What we do have in common is a love for deep and meaningful conversations and a disdain for wasted time. When reading books, we each have a limit as to how much of a bad story we can tolerate and page 50 is the limit. That’s why we’ve created a podcast where we discuss books where getting past page 50 wasn’t a struggle for either one of us. On this podcast we will talk about books that grabbed us from the beginning and that we couldn’t put down but there is a catch: all of the authors that we feature will be approaching the golden age of 50. We truly believe that authors who hit their stride in mid-life don’t get enough shine and we’re here to give them their flowers.
