Little Women tells the timeless tale of the March family, featuring Mr. and Mrs. March and their four spirited daughters. Theres Meg, the practical yet fashion-conscious eldest, yearning for the comforts of their past; Jo, the rambunctious bookworm aspiring to be a writer who wishes she had been born a boy; shy Beth, the gentle homebody who finds joy in playing the piano and caring for her beloved kitties; and artistic Amy, the youngest, who dreams of having an aristocratic nose. Set against the backdrop of the American Civil War, the story begins with Mr. March away serving as a chaplain for the Union army, leaving his wife and daughters to navigate life’s challenges as they await his safe return. Their journey is filled with both joy and heartache, and it intertwines with Laurie, their adventurous neighbor who becomes like a brother to them. The March and Laurence families forge a deep and lasting friendship, transcending their differences in wealth and status. (Summary by Mary Anderson)
