Horzing Around grew out of earlier projects that wandered off in strange directions, but the heart behind them never changed: I still care deeply about horses and about the sport built around them… even if I barely recognize it anymore.
Because honestly? Most days I feel like I’m just horsing around, trying to make sense of a sport that’s become equal parts confusing, fascinating, inspiring, and downright frustrating.
Somewhere along the way, so much of equestrian life got wrapped in PR gloss, “Olympic dreams,” curated perfection and silence around the tough stuff. The soul got misplaced. And the media hasn’t exactly rushed to pick it up.
Horzing Around is my attempt to gather all the thoughts, questions, eye-rolls, tiny victories, uncomfortable truths, and genuine worries that never make it into the polished version of equestrian sport we’re presented with.
If you love horses but sometimes want to scream into a feed bucket about the nonsense, the contradictions, the beauty, the chaos and the ridiculousness of it all, you’re home.
Welcome to Horzing Around.
Let’s dig into the sport we love, even when it makes absolutely no sense.
