In Expository Thoughts, J. C. Ryle intricately divides the Gospels into manageable sections of about twelve verses, highlighting two or three key insights for readers to reflect upon. At a time when detailed commentaries were plentiful, Ryle sought to create a resource tailored for the everyday Christian, perfect for family prayers, visiting the sick, or personal devotion for those with busy lives who cannot engage with lengthy texts. This volume is the second of two on St. Luke, complementing previous works on St. Matthew and St. Mark. Ryles heartfelt intention was to promote pure and undefiled religion, deepen the understanding of Christ, and serve as a humble instrument in the vital mission of converting and uplifting souls.
