Description

Hello everyone and welcome to The Counselling Room. This podcast is here to explore the different reasons why people choose counselling and discuss how our life experiences and situations may impact our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, daily lives, and ongoing mental health. I explore how our childhood experiences and influences can sometimes shape who we are, the choices we make and why we may respond to situations in the ways that we do. You don’t need to be considering counselling or currently be having counselling to be invited into the conversation. The Counselling Room is also an opportunity to understand more about the process, and potential benefits of receiving mental health support through counselling. Each episode brings psychoeducation around different topics, relatable scenarios and my own reflections — both as a counsellor and as an imperfect human being who is quite happy to challenge the myth that counsellors somehow lead perfectly balanced mental health lives! So join me for reflections, common themes, humour and the occasional insight into my own life inside and outside of The Counselling Room. I hold a BSc (Hons) Degree in Therapeutic Counselling and am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My professional practice is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework. Lynda Little Reasons for Counselling. Real life experiences. Real conversations.
