The Woods I Knew is an immersive podcast about the strange pull of wild places, and the people who answer it. Each season takes a different path into the wilderness, using storytelling, memory, documentary, historical voices, and atmospheric sound to explore what draws us beyond the familiar.

Season One is a serialized audio drama reconstructing a childhood haunted by the unexplained in the remote Appalachian woods. Season Two turns outward, pairing intimate first-person accounts with artfully reconstructed voices from the past: wanderers, keepers, mystics, and others who found something in the wilderness they could not quite leave behind. Somewhere between oral history, meditation, and the uncanny, The Woods I Knew asks what happens when a landscape stops feeling like scenery and starts to feel like a presence.
