Description

Can a driven individual shatter academic stereo-types through a passion for education? How does a love of science or engineering help you overcome educational difficulties, or even poverty? Writer and poet Benjamin Zephaniah talks with acclaimed figures in the areas of science, technology and engineering from the Afro-Caribbean community about their experiences within their particular fields. They discuss their work, inspiration and the obstacles of pursuing careers in subjects that have been traditionally occupied by white men. Through Benjamin Zephaniah we get an insight into their aspirations, how they managed to succeed and the modern and diverse methods they use to encourage the youth to engage with the sciences.
