Welcome to Common Sense Optional with Diana and Scott, we believe the best conversations happen when people are free to ask questions, change their minds, laugh at themselves, and appreciate different perspectives.

Common Sense Optional brings people together through honest, humorous conversations about current events, pop culture, and the beautifully confusing experience of midlife. Through the perspectives of two friends from different backgrounds, we encourage curiosity over certainty, laughter over outrage, and meaningful conversation over division. Our goal is simple: to create a space to hang out where listeners can take a break from the noise, think out loud, and leave feeling a little lighter, a little wiser, and a little less alone.

Our hope is that every episode feels like time spent with friends who make you laugh, make you think, and remind you that it’s okay to have questions. Around here common sense isn’t a requirement. Kindness, curiosity, and a good sense of humor are required and they always have a seat at our table.
