Description

Welcome to the God Is Within Her Podcast. (formerly known as The Beautifully Enough Podcast!) This is a space for you, as a Christian woman, to mature in your faith, grow a closer relationship with God, and live confidently in Christ! Every week, we will dive into the word of God so we fill our minds with God’s truths, to live, not as the world tells us to live, but to live boldly as Godly women who fear the Lord. DON'T PANIC RETURNING LISTENERS!! This is still the same weekly devotional podcast you fell in love with over the past two years. But God has put it on my heart to pivot and run with a new title that truly embodies the kingdom purpose God has placed on my heart: not to focus on our lack or feelings of inadequacies but to mentor and guide Christian women to realize we can grow a fierce and confident faith in Christ! Titus 2:3-7 instructs the female elders to become “teachers of beautiful things”. The message translation tells women to be “models of goodness”. When we are models of these beautiful things, we will begin to teach other women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, and to be set-apart as a model of a life nobly lived. And, of course, there is Psalm 46, where the title of the podcast comes from. Psalm 46 references the city of God, Zion, and his chosen people, the Jews. The psalmist is writing this song as a beautiful reminder that God is their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, do not fear. God is within the city, so the city will not fall. But it is also a promise for us, as women of God. Because of Jesus, God is within us every single day, through the Holy Spirit. And if God is for us, who can be against us? God is within her, she will not fall. And that is my prayer over you as you join me in this podcast, that you become a woman who is a model of the beautiful things of the Lord as you grow in your faith and embrace the promise that God is within you.It is time we start the word of God to conquer our fears and doubts that we aren’t enough or we can’t hear God’s voice, and transform into empowered women of God who can overcome any obstacle all in the name of Jesus! If you have been going through the motions of your faith and you’re ready for a mentor to guide you on your daily walk with God, you are in the right place! THURSDAY TRUTH BOMB - How To Be Thankful Always
973

Hey friends! Today's Thursday Truth Bomb is going to help you focus more on things to be thankful for and not things to complain about. It is so easy to hyper focus on everything going wrong, falling apart. Grumbling and complaining are second nature to us. But just because it's a habit that doesn't mean that it's a habit we need to keep. So let's talk about how to shift our hearts away from a grumbling heart to one that focuses on the blessings and thanksgiving!

How To Trust God's Will
2034

Hey friends! Today we are going to review the story of Abraham and Sarah and how they trusted God and didn't trust God in certain situations. We have a tendency to believe that if God doesn't answer our prayers right here, right now, that means He has forgotten us and He doesn't care about us. We want immediate answers from God instead of trusting God's timing, no matter how slow it might feel. And when we don't get those immediate answer, we will take it upon ourselves to do it anyway, trusting our own will over God's. And it never turns out right when we do it without God, does it? If you struggle with trusting God's will, this episode is for you. How do I trust God's will over my own will and desires?

THURSDAY TRUTH BOMB // Waiting On The Lord's Perfect Timing
1095

Hey friends! We are back with another Thursday Truth Bomb! Today, if for all of the listeners who struggle with waiting on the Lord and trusting the Lord's timing. We live in a microwave society where we want everything right now this very moment! And we inaccurately assume that if it doesn't happen on our timeline, then God made a mistake or He forgot about us or it's a sign that God just doesn't care about us. (Which is totally NOT TRUE.) How can I get better at waiting on the Lord and trusting God's timing?

Not Today Satan! - Fighting Our REAL Enemy
2189

Hey friends! Did you know that you have an enemy? Nope, it's not your spouse. It's not your boss. It's not the person on social media who doesn't have the same political views as you. As believers, we have ONE enemy and his name is Satan. He sneaks around like a roaring lion looking to devour your marriage, your family, your identity, your peace, your courage, your hope, and your faith on a daily basis. And yet, we rarely put up a fight against him. We will fight with our spouses all day long...we will fight thoughts in our head all day long...but we will never lift a finger towards the devil. We are fighting the wrong battles, friends. We don't blame the devil enough and I have had enough of this! Today, ask to have your eyes opened as we dive into this journey of learning all of the schemes of the enemy and how to, not just survive his attacks, but to be a threat right back! Let's fight this good fight, sis! I am pumped! LETS GO!

Thursday Truth Bomb // Where Your Treasure Is There Your Heart Will Be
1037

Hey friend! In today's Thursday Truth Bomb, we are going to self-reflect and bring to light anything we are treasuring more than God. Matthew 6:21 tells us "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." As women of God, we want our hearts to be 100% on God! That means we should treasure nothing  more than God! Right???

Today, we will study Genesis 19: Lot, Lot's wife, and how she turns into a pillar of salt because she treasured what she left behind in Sodom and Gomorrah.

Making God and Reading Your Bible a Necessity Not An Option
1736

Hey friends! **WARNING** Gonna step on some toes with this one. I used to have all of the reasons why I couldn't read my Bible every day, too. I was too busy, didn't want to get up earlier than normal, didn't know where to start or would I even understand what I was reading? But then I was deeply convicted. It wasn't that I couldn't do it or that I wouldn't be equipped to do it, it was a priority issue. I was allowing myself to make time with God an option, not a necessity. And it hits different when you admit God isn't a priority versus "I don't have the time." So that is what I want to chat about in today's episode. Let me help you grow in your perspective and see our lack of time with God is a lack of priority...and how you can change all of that!

How to Trust God by Knowing What Is Truly Important
1092

Hey friends! Today, we go back to Matthew 6 and tackle worry from a different angle. I want to equip you with another powerful tool on how to overcome worry...and that is through fully trusting God AND keeping our eyes on what is really important! We get so fixated to things of this world that they become what is most important to us. And we forget that this world is temporary. What we gain here on this earth is here today and gone tomorrow. So if it is temporary, why do we cling to it so tightly? Why are we not clinging to the eternal things? Why are we not clinging to everlasting things?! Let's study Matthew 6 again and, this time, learn how to keep our eyes on what is truly important and how that will help us trust God more and help subside our constant states of worry.

New Year's Resolution Challenge// Knowing What is Sin (and How to Handle it!)
1840

Hey friends! Today, I want to challenge you as we enter the new year. If you have been wanting to mature in your faith and you feel God pulling you closer to Him, you will find that you will begin to see sin that you usually didn't see. And I want to challenge you to walk into that new phase of your faith boldly! I know it can be challenging and even scary you resist temptations and sins that you have become accustom to, but that is the danger of it all. We have become so desensitized to sin that we don't see recognize most of it around us! We are so neutral to so many sins that we begin to just let it be instead of being righteously offended by it and wanting to bring light and truth to the situation! Kind of like how Noah's sons handled (or didn't handle) a certain precarious situation Noah finds himself in after the flood.

How To Be an Obedient Woman of God
1019

Hey friends! Merry *almost* Christmas!! Today we are going to study Luke 1 and 2 and learn two lessons from Mary: how to be an obedient woman of God and how to have joy regardless of your circumstances. So many times we just read this passage as another Sunday school story or as part of the Christmas play our kids do for church. But this story is also a powerful example of how we, as Godly women, can find the answer to our question of "how can I be an obedient woman of God?" How can we push past our self-doubt and fear to follow God obediently?

Where Do You Find Your Hope?
1891

Hey friends! Today we are going to talk about where we find our hope. I don't think many of us realize that we have our hope misplaced. We place our hope in things of this world: money, spouses, friends, motherhood, health, jobs, other people, etc. when our hope should only be placed in God and God alone. No wonder we constantly struggle with feeling hopeless and full of worry and doubt! Luckily for us, our God is the God of Hope! So after a little redirection, I hope to remind you to get your hope back into God's hands, the only place it belongs.

3 Ways You Can Hear God's Voice
2149

Hey friends! Today we are going to chat about three different ways you can hear God's voice.
Yes you can hear it! No, it might not always be with your ears. But yes, YOU can hear His voice! So how? God speaks to us in so many different ways, it goes far beyond just an audible voice (that yes, He is capable of doing if He chooses to!). But more often than not, for me, God speaks in so many other ways than an audible voice. So how does God speak to us? And how can I hear His voice? Let's dive into this today!

THURSDAY TRUTH BOMB // Taming The Tongue - Being Aware of the Words We Say
874

Hey friends!! Today we are going to discuss taming our tongue and being super aware of the words we are allowing ourselves to say! With the same mouth we will praise of God and also curse our fellow brothers and sisters...and James 3 tells us this should not be! We have become way too casual with the words we allow ourselves to use in daily conversations. But, it is not too late to take captive thoughts words and make them obedient to Christ! Let's make a promise that we will do our absolute best to get God our best and represent Him well with our words.

GOD IS WITHIN HER PODCAST // The Pivot - Trusting God's Understanding Over My Own
1375

Hey friends! You might be expecting The Beautifully Enough Podcast! What the heck is God Is Within Her? Am I in the right place?!

Do not panic. You are in the right place, sister! This is still Valarie Reynolds, your bestie and mentor! This is still a weekly devotional for Christian women. I am still here to help you mature your faith, grow a closer relationship with God and help you live confidently in Christ! And we will still kick the devil in the teeth by studying God’s word and grow our God-given courage and bravery as Godly women!

But sometimes, God calls us to pivot. And He has been calling me to pivot with the name of the podcast for a while. When I first started this podcast, I titled it Beautifully Enough because that is how I felt. I was in a lowly dark place in my life. I was struggling with some inner idols that God was exposing. I jumped into creating this podcast with no idea where it was going or how much of an impact it was going to have on so many women’s lives. I really doubted myself and that I was even qualified to teach other Christian women scripture and Biblical lessons,  That is why the podcast was titled Beautifully Enough - It was my declaration and reminder to myself that I am just that, beautifully enough, even when I didn’t feel like I was enough or qualified enough.

And here we are today, exactly two years since the first podcast episode aired! I am bewildered and amazed at how God has used this podcast for growing His Kingdom and glory! You probably can say you and I have come a long way as Godly women, haven’t we?

And that is why the name is taking a pivot. We have matured as a podcast. I have matured even more as your weekly host. Many of you have matured along with me! And while we may occasionally struggle with feeling just beautifully enough, it’s time we move to the next season of our walks with Christ. It’s time to boldly step into the next phase of being women who live a life where it is abundantly clear that God is within her! Where we no longer live lives dictated by our doubts and fears but truly live as Godly women who are unshakeable because God is within us!

I won’t lie, this pivot was a scary one for me. So many of you love the original name!  And that planted some doubt in my head, like maybe this pivot wasn’t what I was supposed to do. And that is what I wanted to talk to you about today. Trusting God over yourself.

THURSDAY TRUTH BOMB- Could My Anxiety Be From a Lack of Daily Bread?
818

Hey friends! In today's truth bomb, we are going to discuss why it is so important to read God's word every day. Matthew 6:11 tells us "Give us this day our daily bread." Our daily bread is God's word. And daily means...well...DAILY! Yet, we can struggle with reading our Bibles on a daily basis, can't we?

But skipping our Bible every day can have more harmful effects than we realize. And many of our struggles can be mended through God's truths! So join me today as we chat about how power God's word really is and how filling our minds with God's truths can help us defeat so much of the negativity in our thoughts.

Conditional vs. Unconditional Christianity - Do You Have Exceptions to Your Obedience?
2143

Hey friends! Today, I want to help you discover any conditions you have set up in your faith. What do I mean by conditions? I mean, do you have exceptions to your faith and obedience to God?

I'm faithful and obedient on Sundays, but not of Friday nights...
I play the part as a Christian when I am around my Christian friends, but I am a different person when around others...
I have strong, convicting faith when life is easy and smooth, but I ask God where He goes when times get tough...

Do you have conditions set up in your faith? I hope you help you find these areas in your faith where improvements can be made so we can always give God our best day in, day out, regardless of our circumstances or the people we are around.

THURSDAY TRUTH BOMB - Raising Our Children Up In Christ
1012

Hey friends! Welcome to another episode of Thursday Truth Bombs! Today's truth bomb is all about parenting. As Christian parents, we have a duty and obligation to raise our children on the path they should go, the path of Jesus. Proverbs 22:6 tells us to "train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will no depart from it." And this command requires us, as parents and the adults, to make sure we know what that correct path looks like! It is our job to set the example for our children so they have a proper example to model their own Christian walk against. We need to do our parts as the parent to make sure we are training our children up so they always are firmly rooted in Jesus Christ.

Gratitude Conquers Worry
1799

Hey friends! Today, I am going to give you one of the biggest weapons you have against that worry and overwhelm feeling. It's inevitable that we will have moments of negativity, whether it be worry, anxiety, overwhelm, anger, frustration, self-doubt...the list can go on and on! But, just because we will experience these negative emotions (that are sometimes attacks from the enemy!), we don't have to sit and wallow in them. We do not have to be a victim to our own out-of-control emotions. We have a powerful weapon in thankfulness and gratitude! And in today's episode, I am going to coach you through how to take our eyes off of the negative and redirect them to our Heavenly Father. Today, you will learn how gratitude conquers worry every single time.

THURSDAY TRUTH BOMB - Representing God Well
466

Hey friends! We are back with another Thursday Truth Bomb! Today's truth bomb is a gentle reminder that, no matter the offense, how much it makes us angry or frustrated, our response should still be one that represents God well. And sometimes, that means we take a step back to make sure we give a response that still brings glory to God and not a reaction that brings Him sorrow.

Am I Not Sending You? - You Could Be Exactly Who God is Going To Use
1955

Hey friends! Today's episode is for anyone who just never feels like that will ever amount to anything. You have a laundry list of failures behind you as to why you don't have any purpose in your life and you are not capable of making changes for the better. We are going to study the story of Gideon, a man who is describes as "the least of his family." Yet, God called him "a mighty warrior." Does that describe you? You look at yourself as the least of your family? Well, God looks at you in a totally different light.  And I pray you see yourself how God sees you at the end of this episode.

What Are Disputable Matters? And How Do I Handle Them As A Christian?
1972

Hey friends! Today, we are going to be discussing a divisive topic. So I want you to enter today's episode with opened eyes and softened hearts...because today we are going to tackle "disputable matters."

Disputable matters are those grey areas of Christianity, while not salvation issues, but secondary issues that  have differing convictions from one believer to another.  Can Christians drink or not drink? Should they avoid secular holidays like halloween or Christmas or is it ok?

I pray that this is received with open hearts as we dive into Romans 14, where the Apostle Paul talks about disputable matters, weak vs. strong faith, and how we should handle one another's differing convictions.

How To Deal With Sadness
2001

Hey friends! Today we are going to cover sadness. I know, I know, you probably don't want to talk about sadness do you? We are really good at avoiding the pain and overwhelm of sadness. We want to avoid it or numb it or just ignore it. But,  I want to give you a Biblical perspective on how to handle sadness. How can I walk through sadness and allow it to be an opportunity to lean closer to my Heavenly Father?

Don't be afraid of sadness.

Watch Your Mouth
2092

Hey friends! Today we are going to dig deeper into what scripture says about the power of our words! Our words can feel so insignificant, like they carry no power, they're "innocent". But scripture tells us over and over again that our words have the power of life and death! Our words are like a spark that can start an entire fire! They are like the tiny rudder on the ship, small yet steers the entire thing!

Our words: written, spoken, even just thought about, have huge power over others as well as our own lives. How do you speak to yourself? How do you speak about others? Do you edify and lift others up with your words, whether they hear you or not? Or do you tear down with your words? I challenge you to be more aware of your words and watch your mouth.

Revelation Is Not Scary!!!
1868

Hey friends! Today, we are tackling the book of the bible that I think a lot of us avoid. We avoid it because it either scares us half to death OR we read it and it's just so dang confusing!! We are going to talk about the book of REVELATION!!! Dun dun dunnnn!!!

Hear me out: REVELATION IS NOT SCARY!!!

We have been taught the book of Revelation wrong for so long that we think it's this dark, end-times, scary, tribulation, mark of the beast, end of the world book that we should be frightened of. Revelation is not scary! When you really dig deep into Revelation, you begin to see that it's not a book of fear. Revelation is a book of hope and VICTORY!

What??? You've never seen the book of Revelation as a book of hope?! Well, it is. Trust me. Let's talk about it today! And I pray that you leave this episode with a sense of empowerment and a readiness to be a THREAT TO THE ENEMY!

My Hope Is In God
1821

Hey friends! Today, we are discussing hope. That is something that can be hard to come by in this world, especially as of late. The worldly pandemic, daily new of another world crisis, arguing and bickering on social media...our hope can look more like a roller coaster of ups and downs rather than a steady stream that it's supposed to be.

Why is that? Why does my hope fluctuate up and down? It's honestly exhausting. It's not like that's our intention, but we also don't really know how to remedy the problem, do we? Can we have a steady feeling of hope? How is that possible? Is it possible? And if it is possible, how can I get to that place?

If you're tired of feeling hopeless most of the time, this episode is for you.

Instructions For Christian Living - Ephesians 4
2209

Hey friends! We are continuing our bible study and break down of the book of Ephesians! Today we are tackling chapter 4 and it is a gooooood one!!

Have you every wondered to yourself what "being a Christian" actually should look like? Yes, we are supposed to be obedient to the Holy Spirit inside of us and that obedience will naturally lead us to right choices, fleeing from sin, and being in alignment with God's will. But for anyone who likes check-lists and just wants some examples of what this looks like, Ephesians 4 is going to be for you! (Honestly, Ephesians 4-6 is going to be for you!) Get read for some convicting verses because Paul does not sugar coat Christianity here. We are called to get rid of our old selves and put on our new selves, made new in Christ! If there is anything from your pre-Christian life you have been holding onto, there is a strong possibility Paul calls it out here. Get ready for some conviction!

1830

Hey friends! We are back in our bible study of Ephesians and today we are tackling chapter 3! This chapter is short and sweet, only 21 verses! But Paul covers so much information in that short amount of time! Today, our theme is a big reminder that we ALL are covered by the blood of Christ, Gentile and Jew, if we believe. And a final prayer over you that you develop a passion and desire to grow your roots deep into God's love. That you fully know how wide, long, high, and deep God's love is for you! Enjoy!

You Are Chosen - Ephesians 1
2303

We are going to do something a little different for the next few weeks! We are going to work through the book of Ephesians together as a podcast! Each week, I will read one chapter in Ephesians and we will break it down kind of like our own personal bible study, just you and me!

This is week one so we are going to tackle Ephesians 1 together! This first chapter is Paul, once again, reminding the church that we are now ALL God's chosen people because Jesus paid for our sins and shame. We are sealed and His when we believe Jesus is the Messiah!

And with our faith, we are given the Holy Spirit as well as supernatural resources to continue to spread the Good News and create more disciples! If you didn't think you had any gifts or purpose, you are wrong! We cover it more in today's episode! So open up your bible, get your highlighter out, and lets study Ephesians!

"Even If" Faith
1678

The Beautifully Enough Shop is LIVE! This is my new online store that will provide resources for Christian women to grow their faith! The first workbook is out and LIVE, "HOW TO GET CONSISTENT WITH READING MY BIBLE." Head on over to my shop and use the promo code PODCAST10 for 10% the workbook!

Today, we are going to the book of Daniel. One of my favorite books in the bible. The book of Daniel contains two very popular and famous bible stories: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being thrown into the furnace and Daniel and the lion's den. Takes you back to Sunday school, huh? As a child, you might not pick up of the deepness within each of these stories. But as an adult, after living some life, having moments you probably have felt crushed, ran over by a bulldozer, rug pulled out from under you, sky is falling struggles, stories like these can take one a whole new meaning.

Has there ever been a time in your life where you have asking God for something? You prayed hard for it. You worked hard for it. You wanted it so badly it hurt. And the answer was still “no”. You’re left feeling confused, angry, frustrated. God why was this a no?? And you’re left with more questions than answers. -- You’re the one I want to talk to today. Today, I want to plant a seed about the “even if” faith. Even if He does not...it is well with my soul faith.

How To Find Your Kingdom Purpose
3065

Thanks to good ole Tiktok (yes, I am on Tiktok!), I discovered there is a huge need for clarity on spiritual gifts and Kingdom purpose. So many people in my comments section say they struggle with even knowing what their gifts are! And more of them don't even believe they have any talents or gifts!

Oh heaven no no no! We are all given spiritual gifts! They may be different but they all come from the same Holy Spirit. So I wanted to share my story about how I grew up thinking I was lacking in the spiritual gifts department too. I used to believe everyone else has superior gifts than me, and that my skills were just ordinary. They weren't kingdom purpose skills. But now I realize that all of those thoughts were lies from the enemy. The enemy knew I was created with great kingdom purpose! And he tried to take me out of the game at an early age.

But God was victorious!! So if you need guidance on how to discover and identity your spiritual gifts and how they can be used for the kingdom, this is the episode for you. Enjoy!

Keep The Main Thing The Main Thing
1901

Today, I want to talk about a sentence that has stuck with me since I was a teenager. I grew up in church and I remember having a guest pastor come and speak. His name was Peter Lord (literally had to text me mom and ask her to remind me because for the life of me, I couldn’t remember.) And in one of his sermons he said “you have to keep the main thing the main thing”. I have never forgotten that simple sentence. You have to keep the main thing the main thing.

In our walk with God, we have to remember to keep the main thing the main thing. And the main thing is God. The main thing is not us. We are not the main characters in this story. We are role players. It’s not that we are not important to God. He loves us so much, He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins. Oh we are so important to Him. But, we are not the main thing. God is the main thing. And in everything we do, we have to keep the main thing the main thing. We have to keep God the priority. Our actions should be for God first. Our thoughts should please God first. Our prayers should praise and honor God, first. But, as humans full of sin and fault, we can lose sight of keeping the main thing the main thing, can we not? We can fall into this cycle of being a part time Christian but fully expecting God to be for us full time. Our prayers become all about “give me give me give me” and never once even thinking about having gratitude. We talk how we want to talk. Dress how we want to dress. Say what we want to say. Do what we want to do. And we can get so comfortable, we forget to keep the main thing the main thing.

Let The Devil Know Not Today
1943

Today, I am offering a challenge. It is a challenge to be humble, to have a softened heart, opened ears, and pray real quick for some discernment to be aware of what I want to teach you today. Because this might challenge some of you to release things that you have held onto for a really long time. And even though you have held onto it like a comfort blanket, you also don’t like how it makes you feel. I am talking about all the default emotions your mind is currently set you. Specifically the negative default emotions like: anger, frustration, resentment towards other people, self-loathing, the feeling that you’re not good enough, the shame and guilt you hold onto, anything that pushes you to be lazy and lack action, anything that causes an excess of anxiety and worry,  *insert any negative emotion that does not allow you the mental capacity to live fully whole and loved and joyful in Christ because it takes up way too much of your mental RAM drive*

Do you have your negative default emotions identified yet? Ok good. You ready?

Your current negative default emotions are your areas in your life that you need to (at the risk of sounding cliche) let go and Let GOD. You have been in agreement with those dark emotions for far too long. It’s time to stop agreeing with them. Stop agreeing with the lies in your head that the enemy put there with the sole purpose of keeping you from completing your purpose!! If the thought or emotion goes against God’s word, if it makes you believe in an identity that contradicts who God says you are, then it is a default setting you need to DELETE RIGHT NOW. It is not an innocent thing. It is full blow spiritual warfare and you are drawing the line in the sand right now, sister.

It’s time to shove those negative emotions back in the devil’s face! Yes sis! Take those emotions and hurl them back in the enemy’s direction and say “Take these back! They’re yours, not mine!” Today, we are going to learn how to redirect our emotions so we control them, they don’t control us!

The enemy intended to harm you with it. But God intended to turn it into good!

Imitating Christ’s humility
2167

Today, I want to talk about humility. I feel like this is a topic that isn’t touched as much as others, but it certainly is something we need more of in this world. Just do any quick search in google or Pinterest and so many of the self-help quotes you see are so self absorbed and self-involved. “Focus on just you” was one of them. “”Focus on yourself, don’t get lost in other people” was another. “Find yourself” “”It doesn’t matter what others are doing but what you are doing.” And while all of that definitely sounds good to our ears (because it feeds into our flesh), at its core, “focus on self” is not anything Jesus would do.

So today, I want to talk about humility and, hopefully, just help you develop a new perspective that goes away from self and towards others.

How Do I Share About Jesus?
1943

Today, we are going to tackle a topic that, honestly, I feared for most of my teenage years. Maybe fear isn’t the right word, but I had a lot of questions on it. It was the term disciple. I would hear Matt. 4:19 said in church “And He said unto them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” And we would talk about the great commission in Matt 26:19-20  “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

But internally, I would be like “what does that even mean for me? Does that mean I just invite my friends to church? Do it mean I have to be this weird, awkward Christian who only would talk about Jesus?” I pictured this nerd in the corner with glasses (ironically, I do wear glasses!).

And deep down, I was afraid of what people would think of me. I’ve said it many times before on the podcast, but I am a recovering people pleaser. I just wanted to fit in with the popular kids. I honestly thought some of the kids in my youth group who were “on fire for God” were a little weird and a little strange. And the idea of being a disciple for Christ, spread the gospel and the good news was a huge question mark for me even into my early adult years. What does it mean to spread the good news? Maybe you want to share Jesus with more people but you don’t know how? Because you also don’t want to be accused of “shoving it down their throats” either, right? “Stop pushing your religion on me.” I want to share Jesus. I want to spread the good news. It has done so much for me!

But. How?

Why do I feel like something is still missing?
1454

Today’s devotional was inspired by one of my favorite songs. If you don’t know this song, you need to go download it. It is by Elevation Worship called “graves to gardens”. These are the lyrics that got me.

“I searched the world But it couldn't fill me. Man's empty praise And treasures that fade Are never enough. Then You came along And put me back together. And every desire Is now satisfied Here in Your love.”

So this is for anyone who struggles with self-confidence. You worry about what other people think of you. Maybe you feel like something is missing inside of you and nothing quite seems to fill the void: you’ve tried relationships, material possessions, money, hustle, success, and no matter what you put there, there is always this empty feeling like there is something more. There is still something missing.

Where Is The Comfort, God?
1593

Currently, you could be in one of 3 places: currently in the dark valley, just got out of the valley, or you’re about to walk through the valley. Am I right? Sometimes, life can really feel like one big dark valley. And it’s real, it hurts, it brings fear into your life, it might even take some of that God given confidence, joy and peace away from you. All of that is real to you and you are seeking comfort from God.

You know He is a God of comfort. You know you need to trust His ways are higher than your ways. You know to turn to Him when you are feeling like you’re in that dark valley. You might even remember this verse and have prayed some sort of version for yourself. “Lord, I come to you for comfort. You tell me that your rod and your staff comfort me. I need that comfort right now.” -- And then you wait...and wait...and wait...and wait...and the comfort never seems to come. The pain is still there. The struggle is still there. The exhaustion is still there. And then we ask the same question “God, you told me you would comfort me. But I feel zero comfort. My pain is still there. My struggle is still there. I’m still feeling mentally exhausted and I have little peace and joy. I don’t think you have heard me God. I feel like you have forgotten me, Lord. I don’t matter much to you, do I?”

But here is what I want to bring to light: the word “comfort” in this passage does not mean God will take away the pain and suffering. Can God just take it away like “that”? Absolutely He can. Does He chose to leave it there? Yep, He does that too. Comfort is not the absence of the pain, like we like to think it is. At least when it’s used in the bible, that typically is not what it means.

Worldly comfort is the comfort we want. Zero pain. Zero suffering. Easy living. No struggles. But Spiritual comfort is what we need, because it requires us to rely on God. It is not a lack of pain and struggle, but becoming strengthened and reinvigorated, reinforced, by God! It’s knowing we cannot do any of this on our way, whether in the dark valley or sitting pretty. We need God. And His comfort means He gives us the strength required to keep walking through the valley until you make it to the other side!

Never Too Far Gone
2098

Today, we are going to dive into God’s grace, mercy and forgiveness. Perhaps there is some past sin in your life that is like a dark cloud hovering over your head. Or perhaps it’s not in the past but it’s very much in the present, right now today. It is a huge source of shame and guilt. You’re definitely not proud of it. It might even make you feel like you’re too far from God’s forgiveness. It’s just something that no matter how much to pursue Him, how much you read your Bible, how much you go to church, even how much you ask for forgiveness, it still feels like a shameless letter A across your chest. Maybe it’s sexual immorality whether that be sex outside of marriage, an affair, lust, pornography. Maybe it’s not very good Christian living like partying, too much alcohol, drug use, anything that makes you not sober minded. Maybe it’s an abortion from your past. Maybe it’s something that was done to you, out of your control. I know these are super deep, and dark topics to talk about, but sometimes we need to talk about them. We need to know that we are not alone. We need to know other women struggle with the same shame and guilt from sins in our lives that we really would just like to sweep under the rug and never speak of again. But there is no healing and there is no freedom when we do that. So, I am willing to get a little uncomfortable if you are.

Anger Management
2005

Today’s episode is inspired by a comment left on my Instagram page by Melissa Silva @melsil81. She asked “how to handle anger in your heart when someone has done you wrong.” Isn’t that such a deep and personal question to seek guidance in?! And, let's be real sis, we need to know how to handle anger better in our day to day lives, not just when someone did you wrong. But someone going 10 miles under the speed limit is enough to feel like someone did me wrong. I gotta turn up that klove Jesus music up extra high when that happens because, gosh it irks me! Ha! So let’s talk about anger, because honestly, I still don’t have this one fully conquered. But thankfully His mercies are new every day and every day we can choose to improve our anger management skills.

A Woman Who Fears The Lord Is Greatly To Be Praised
2393

Happy belated Mothers Day to all of my momma listeners out there! In honor of it being Mother's day last week, I wanted to take the time to break down one of my favorite passages in the Bible: A wife of noble character, Proverbs 31:10-21.

In this episode, I break down some of my favorite parts to give us a clearer vision of what we should strive to be more like as a virtuous woman. You don't have to be a wife or a mom to learn and grow from this passage.

Some of the thoughts I tackle are:
I want to be a more Godly wife, what should that look like?
I don't think these characteristics I have are worth anything.
What characteristics do I lack that I can improve on?

In the end, we can't take our charm and beauty to heaven. So I want to help inspire you to find your inner Proverbs 31 woman. Build your identity and faith on that solid foundation of Christ and not what the world tells youis "empowering" and "strong". We are not supposed to look like the world, anyway.

Listener Request Episode - Staying Consistent With Our Quiet Time
2290

Today’s episode comes from a comment by @autumn_bottom. She commented “staying motivated, staying consistent. I will be on top of prayer and devotional and Bible study one week and then the next is just a wash!” And goodness, how many of yall can relate to that comment?! I know you do because this is probably one of these most asked questions I get in my DMs or comment sections. So many struggle with their daily Bible reading, daily prayer time, daily quiet time. You want to do it. You know you need to do it. You even know it will be so beneficial to your spiritual walk and grow your faith in The Lord! So why is it so dang hard to stay self-disciplined with it?!

Now, sorry if this disappoints you, but this will not be an episode with all the tips and tricks on how to read your Bible better, what’s better: morning or afternoon, what devotionals do I read, what pastors should I listen to, etc. Here is why: you can have all of the tools right in front of you, but the resources alone won’t give you a reason to remain consistent at it.

The most typical problem I see when people are struggling with their daily time with The Lord, is they are asking the wrong question. They want to do “what” to do when the better, and more effective question is, “why” do I need to do this? And the reason I know this is because, for a long time, I was asking the wrong question myself. I always wanted to know “What” new devotional to read? “WHAT” book in the bible do I need to start in? But I was missing the most important question...WHY was I supposed to do it in the first place?

Why should I read my Bible daily?

Why should I pray daily?

Why should I spend time with God daily?

So, why should we?

Finding Your Joy
1759

Today, we are going to be talking about joy! Everyone wants joy. Everyone wants to feel happy. But how? Where can I find it?

We are taught to attach our joy to temporary things.  If you want to be happy and never be sad, go and achieve these temporary things that won’t last. There is no way that a temporary thing will provide you with everlasting joy. Nope. Not gonna happen. No way. Why in the world did we buy into the idea that forever joy, forever happiness can come from things that fade away? It fades away, so we search for it even harder and eventually we become slaves to it. We start to place our security in it.  We focus more on it than on God, and that is an idol.

So...how can I be one of those people who are joyful and content in any circumstance, not just when things are going right in my life?  I don’t want to be stuck in neutral. I don’t want to be worried all the time, I want to be joyful all the time! I want to be that truly happy person! Not the person that ignores her cares blindly, but that person who can still find joy even if the situation is not a joyful one. How can I be that person?

Casting your worry on Him
1710

Hey friends! How have you been?! We are getting all settled in here at the Reynolds household.

I am ready to get back into my routine, sharing more inspirational content on my social media. Got back into my more quiet time with God in my new office. It was hard to get back into that routine after being off of it for a little over a week. My body was tired and the voice telling me “you’re tired. It’s ok Just sleep. You deserve the rest,” was just so loud this week! Oh I know that is because I did minimal work of putting my armor on last week. How did I ever go so long without a quiet time and arming myself? I felt so weak emotionally. It actually rolls into why I chose to title today’s episode “casting your cares unto Him.”

This episode is for anything who has struggled or is currently struggling through fear and worry.

1 Peter 5:7 says Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Other translations will say “cast all of your cares on him”, “give all of your worry to Him,” “leave all your worries with Him,” even one says “THROW your worry on Him.” Can you imagine it? Just running by God and tossing our worry onto Him like a pile of laundry. Like here God, bye! Thanks for taking care of this for me!

But it doesn’t feel like it works that way all the time, does it?

Perhaps you know you need to leave your worry with Him, leave your anxiety with Him, leave your fears with Him. And you pray and pray. God take this. I leave this with you...and then 30 minutes later you’re back to feeling worried and anxious and fearful. Why do I still feel worried if I gave it up to God? Did He not take it from me? Or did I not fully give it to Him?

So let's chat about this, shall we?

COACHING SESSION- The Attitude Of Our Minds (previously share episode)
2389

Big thanks to my coaching client, Sydney, for allowing me to record one of our coaching session and share it publicly with everyone!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In this  episode, I am giving you insight into what a mentoring session with me sounds like! This specific session really dug deep into what the bible calls "the attitude of our minds". We focused on how we are calling to "put on our new life", what that looks like, and how our walk as Christian women requires us to pick up our cross DAILY!

What does walking in obedience DAILY look like? Is it even doable? Will I make mistakes?

The answer to all of those and more lie in this recorded coaching session! If you are curious on how you can be apart of my one-on-one mentoring session, head over to my Instagram and send me a DM! I will be taking on new clients starting in May! We can schedule a quick 10 min consult call to see if this is what you have been needing in order to grow a stronger, more closer relationship with God!

Whatever Is True And Noble
1634

Today’s episode is going to have some self reflection in it for you. (yay! We always love it when we have to self reflect, huh?) *insert sarcasm*) But I want to bring some light to what we choose to consume daily. I’m not really talking about what we eat, although the passage I am going to read talked about eating stew. But what do you allow yourself to consume with your ears, eyes, and how that translates into our thoughts.

We will be in 2 Kings 4. In this passage, the prophets in this passage are currently enduring a 7 year famine. For them, it’s a food famine. For us, it's symbolic of a faith famine in our current world. Faith and believers are few and far between in our current world, aren’t they? We are living in a faith famine. The prophets were living in a food famine.

And in the story, they ate "Death In a Pot". Their stew was poisonous. But what in your life are you allowing yourself to eat that is also poisonous, but you refuse to spit it out? I will be the one to say it is time to take off the rose colored glasses you’re looking at the world with and start to see the world through a warrior’s helmet. Let me help you awaken your spiritual discernment to the evil all over this world. Let me help you become more aware of the poisonous stew you’ve been consuming and let’s grow a passion for seeking what is true and noble!

Be Influencers For Christ
1680

Today, I wanted to help guide you through the struggle of feeling called to spread the Good News. You know you need to make disciples of others, be fishers of men (or women)...yet...how??

How do I bring it up?

I’m afraid they will feel like I am pushing my faith on people.

I see their sin, do I call them out on that?

What am I supposed to do?!

And while this is a super complex topic, I am going to guide you through a way to begin, a place to focus. Isn’t that the hardest part? Just knowing where to start? When we don’t know where to start, we don't ever start. So I hope this episode clears a path of where to begin.

How Great Is Our God!
1344

Today’s episode is (hopefully) going to serve as a reminder to us to keep the main thing the main thing. We can get caught up in teaching, learning, memorizing scripture, “is this a sin? Is that a sin?”...and don’t get me wrong. All of those things are so important! But I want to refocus on, not on us as the center of our spiritual universe, but who should be at the center of our universe: God.

I think we innocently forget to put Him at the center of everything we do. We tend to focus more on what God can do for us and we focus less on who He really is. When we get ready to pray, we come prepared with a list of requests for our God. "God, please do this in my life."

But, I want you to really consider what I am trying to convey here and be brutally honest with yourself. Do you treat your relationship with God more as a transactional relationship (I will give you this if you give me that) or more like we should where we pursue a relationship with God because we understand and revere His majesty, Glory, and wonder?!

Our motivation to continue to follow Him is not because of what He can bless you with (although He is perfectly capable of doing that.) Your true joy comes when you remember what you deserve.

Worship While You Wait
1511

Today, I wanted to take a lesson from my own life and use it as inspiration for this episode. There can be something powerful in a “me too” testimony and I have a “me too” moment for you.

Does anyone else struggle with waiting? Basically, is anyone else like me? You plan everything out (even possibly in faith) and when it doesn’t happen exactly as you envisioned it, you get agitated. And then you begin to dwell on the delayed timeline and that compounds worry on top of anxiety. This causes you to rack your brain for solutions. You wallow of it. You lose sleep over it. You get more frustrated because “gah why can’t things just line up the way I wanted them to?!” -- Me. Too. Sister. This was me last week. So I want to share with you what God has taught me in my current season of waiting.

I want to encourage you, today, to see your season of waiting as an opportunity to LEARN, not a place to grumble and complain. Do some self evaluation today and ask yourself: what is your default setting when you experience a delay in your plan? Is your default setting to complain? Or is your default setting trusting God?

Waiting is an opportunity to develop our faith.  Just because you don’t like waiting, doesn’t mean that sometimes we don’t need it to take full effect, because God sees we are still lacking. We aren’t perfect and complete yet. We still have some refining to do. And worshiping while we wait is our way of honoring God, glorifying Him, not because of what He can give us, but just because of who He is.

CHRISTIAN LIVING SERIES: Pray Like David
1635

I feel like, normally, when we think of prayer we think it is just talking to God and asking Him for things. And as believers, we are called to pray, petition and ask. I think of Phil 4:6 that says “Do not be anxious about anything but in EVERYTHING by PRAYER AND PETITION, present your requests to God.” Validation, check, yes we can pray and petition about everything. We have John 15:5-7 where Jesus is talking about being the vine and we are the branches. Apart from Jesus, we wither away. And then in verse 7 he says “ If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” Great, so more validation. As believers, if we remain in Him, and we believe & abide by His words, we can ask for whatever we wish and it will be done. 1 Thessalonians tells us to “pray without ceasing”. Good ole Luke 11, you probably have heard this one, “And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

We know many of those verses or, at least, have heard of them. It’s a lot of asking. Ask God for this, ask God for that.

But prayer is more than just asking. And David’s prayer in 2 Samuel is a wonderful example of what our prayers need to contain, and it’s more than just asking for blessing.

So let’s break this down so we can learn how to prayer better. Prayer is worship. Let's learn how to pray like David.

CHRISTIAN LIVING SERIES: His Will, Not Our Own
1710

We are continuing on with our Christian living series and today, we are going to tackle that internal battle of our own will vs. God’s will for our lives. Sometimes those two things line up perfectly! And sometimes they are polar opposites.

So, as Christians, what do we do?

I think we know the right answer, but it’s one thing to know the right answer and actually choose to walk and trust that right answer. You know what I am talking about. I will bet that a few times in your life you asked for something and everything went so smoothly! It was easy. Straight forward. It was so evident that God’s hands were at work and what you asked for was in perfect alignment with His will! I will also bet that you have asked for something from God and you feel like you never get the answer or He is making you wait, and wait, and wait, and wait for the answer. And you know it isn’t God’s will for your life now, maybe ever, but it’s so hard to walk away from because deep down you really do what it.

True Christian living requires us to strive to obey God’s will 100% of the time. Now, I use the word strive because we are not perfect. We will screw this up. We will “listen to our heart” and pick what we want to do over what God wants us to do. Guys, “listening to your heart” is not biblical. Sorry to burst your bubble. Jeremiah 17:9 says “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” The Message transitions says “The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful.” And then we have good ole Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all of your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding.” We cannot trust our hearts. We cannot rely on our own thoughts, our own understanding, because they are deceitful and typically not in alignment with God’s will on their own.

So how do we handle this?

CHRISTIAN LIVING SERIES: Attitude of Gratitude
2136

Hey friends! I hope you guys are staying warm!
This episode is from my own personal lessons from this past week. If you haven't heard, major parts of Texas lost power for days while in the middle of a winter snow storm. For most of last year, my home did not have power. We basically lived in a tiny hotel room for four days. All of our food in our fridge went bad. School was cancelled all week. It was the perfect storm for some mommy stress, anxiety, and overwhelm.

I struggled mentally this past week. I would wave through emotions of anger, frustation, then I would run down that road of hypothetical scenarios of "what ifs" that only feed my anxiety even more. I struggled with finding peace and calm.

And most people would say, rightfully so! It's ok to be anxious in those moments!

But if that is so, then why was Phil. 4:6 ringing inside my head over and over "Do not be anxious about anything..." Like thanks God, easier said than done. But He wouldn't let me let it go. How in the world am I supposed to NOT be anxious about this whole situation? I have every right to be angry and stressed right now! ... Oh but just because I had the "right" to be, didn't mean I HAD to be...

So this episode if from my heart. No script. No notes. Just an account of my past week and how God rocked my faith with some serious truth bombs.

CHRISTIAN LIVING SERIES: Being Faithful In The Little Things
1534

We might “know”, as Christians, we are supposed to think and act differently that the world...but what does that even mean? How am I supposed to act? What does the bible say about the do’s and don’t of Christian living.  So this inspired a new series I am calling “Christian Living”. For the next few weeks, God willing, there will be a new Christian living topic we are going to discuss. How are we truly supposed to live as Christians? How can I set myself apart? How can I truly live a life that is the “light of the world”? Are there things currently in my life that I deem “ok” but, in reality, they aren’t conducive to what true Christian living is all about.

This is Part 1: Being Faithful In The Little Things

When something big happens: a big tragedy, a big decision, a big promotion, anything that we would consider our “big mountain to climb”...what do you do to handle it? My guess, if you’re a believer, you pray about it, right?

We fervently quote Phil 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, with prayer and petition, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends our understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.” We read that and go, “ok God! This situation has me all kinds of anxious! But I will have faith that you can handle even the worst of situations, so even though I don’t understand how I can have peace right now, your word tells me to present my requests to you. So here I go! I’m going to pray! And you pray and pray and pray. It’s almost a no-brainer to pray about the big stuff.

But what about when the situation is just an average, every day occurrence? What about the even smaller things? Do you give those to God, too? You might give God the big things, but do you trust Him with the little things too?

Part of that Christian living is to live a life where you trust God so much that you take Him into consideration in everything you do! Allow God into EVERY THOUGHT. Allow God into EVERY ACTION. Maybe you’ve been praying and waiting for all the big things. “God! Why haven’t you answered me yet? God, why is this taking so long? You tell me I do not receive because I do not ask, so I am here asking! Where is it???” -- Well, because sometimes God will put you in charge of many things only after you have been faithful with a few things.

How Can I Be More Confident?
1942

Are you one that identifies with a lack of confidence?

I have a feeling a lot of ladies are going to click on because of one trigger word: confident. If there is one topic that I get extra fired up about, it’s confidence. But so many of us walk around not feeling very confident, do we? We lack confidence in our bodies, our skills, our gifts, our time management, our self control, accomplishing goals (whether it be health goals, business goals, spiritual goals) and our lack of confidence holds us back. We don’t rise up to fulfill our purpose in life. We don’t take risks because we doubt there will be any reward. We are afraid that one negative set-back will be enough to make us just crumble to pieces.

Hear me, you’re not alone. But also hear this, you’re not supposed to stay there doubting yourself the rest of your life either. And I am hoping this episode is the kick-in-the-butt you need to walk a little taller today. Because being not confident t is NOT who you are supposed to be. Know who you were created to be and taking a step towards your true identity in Christ and finding your true confidence!!

Having a God-centered marriage // Relationship Series Part 2
1982

Today, this is for all of the ladies who had him put a ring on it. Yes, I am talking to the wives and future wives. All my single ladies, stay tuned in. This podcast is going to have so many valuable pieces of info in it so you can enter your marriage (or future marriage) as the best possible virtuous wife you can be!

Now ladies, I will be focusing almost entirely on you, on us. It can be so easy to look at all of the things our spouse does wrong...what he does or doesn’t bring to the table. But this episode is not about “fixing” your husband. This episode is to guide you on what YOU can do to help your marriage. As women, we have a special role only we can fulfil. It is a role that our husbands are not created to accomplish. And, the flip side of that, as women there are roles only a man is meant to fill.

So I go deeper into our roles as wives, please please please remember that we have our own unique role. We are not the weaker sex. We do not play a less important role. We have a unique and powerful purpose to plan in marriage and God’s divine plan that only we can fulfill. So let’s pick up that purpose and do our absolute best to fulfil what God created us to do!

How can I hear God’s voice better?
1853

Is this the podcast episode you’ve been waiting for? I get asked this question multiple times a week. And it’s time to tackle it!  I want to help you remove the barriers that are keeping you from hearing God’s voice. And the passage of The Good Shepherd sheds light on a question I get asked so much, “How can I hear God’s voice?” And it also serves as a warning to us to be aware of actual things in this world that are trying to manipulate and influence us away from our Good Shepherd.

We can hear the voice of the Lord! Did you know that you could?  We all have the luxury of hearing God’s voice! You ARE capable of hearing God’s voice! Whether it be an audible voice (which has never happened to me), or more of a gentle whisper that almost gets mistaken for a thought  (which is what I tend to receive from the Lord). We are all capable of hearing it.

So why do some of us feel like we struggle with hearing it?

Answer: Gotta listen to this episode!

Is manifesting ok for a Christian to do??
2084

Hey friends! I am going to tackle a little bit on a controversial topic. I haven’t been able to let go of this topic all week in my head. And, based on the response this got on Tiktok, I have a feeling it is one of those topics that doesn’t get talked about a whole lot, but it needs to be! So venturing a little bit outside of that comfort zone and those safer topics and we are just going to go for it!

Now, if you have no idea what I am talking about… “what is manifesting”? Then don’t worry about me. You keep on keeping on praying, loving, and obeying God.

But you may have noticed, as social media grows, more and more influencers use their platforms to promote this law of attraction, manifest your dreams, spirituality, the universe will bring you what you want. It is all very new age and, on the surface, it can seem very innocent. What is wrong with a little positive thinking to better yourself? What is wrong with wanting more and attracting it from a positive thinking place? My manifesting is prayer. I know God is my Creator and God knows my heart.

I say all of these things because, at one point, I believed all of this too. I would justify my manifesting as well. No, I didn’t practice witchcraft or sorcery or any of the darkness we associate with evil. I know little to none about that stuff. What I was doing felt innocent. Law of attraction made sense to me. If I thought about it, it would come true. God knows my heart. God is going to bring me my next customer. I was blending the law of attraction, new age, manifesting, whatever you want to call it, with my faith. And that blending made me think it was ok to do.

But, as you slowly uncover God’s truths found in the Bible, you begin to realize that it isn't in alignment with God’s word at all. And I have narrowed it down to 2 basic, fundamental Biblical truths (I’m sure there is more) that made me personally realize that new age practices were not needed in my life as a believer. And I am hoping that, if you have dabbled into this or are currently dabbling in it, you have clarity in the end as to why you don’t need manifestation either.

BONUS EPISODE - How should I respond to what is going on in the world as a Christian woman
1473

Hey friends. I hope you guys are doing ok with everything that happened just a few days ago. I wasn’t going to address it, I don’t get political on my platforms. But as I was taking a shower this evening, I had a lot of thoughts. And I felt that prompting by God to record this bonus episode. I knew it was a prompting from God because I sat on the couch for about 45 minutes thinking through my thoughts still, trying to ignore the fact that I had the voice inside of me telling me to address this. And Valarie from 2 years ago probably would have ignored that inner voice. But Valarie of now teaches and preaches obedience and stepping into God’s will. So I have to practice what I preach.

This episode is meant for my sister who watched what unfolded at Capitol Hill this past Wednesday, saw her newsfeed turn into a war zone once again, and her heart is just unsettled and she doesn’t quite know how to think or feel. She has this mixture of emotions: anger, confusion, frustration. She maybe wants to get loud and opinionated on social media, show some people who are wrong what right really is. But, you also have that Holy Spirit inside of you telling you maybe staying low is the best idea. And your flesh and Spirit are in conflict. If that is you, then this was for you.

We Reap What We Sow - Planting Good seeds that Honor God in 2021
1559

I encourage you in 2021 to pursue a “better me" perspective than a "new me" perspective.  You don't have to start over. Know that you have already been built up to be in the position you’re in. Your past letdowns or mistakes don’t make you a failure to start 2021. Everything you have endured, even as painful as so of it may have been, all build up your endurance, persperverence, strength, hope and faith. And now, it is time to sow new seed to have a better harvest.

We reap what we sow.

Now stay with me, because this is not about karma. When we hear the phrase “we reap what we sow”, we think if we reap bad, we receive bad. If we reap good, then we will receive good. This leads to us questioning God sometimes because “I am a good person! I worked so hard last year! It did not turn out how I wanted. It actually turned out way worse! What did I do to deserve this? I’m a good person, I do not deserve this!” -- But see, this is not what the bible means when you read it in Galatians 6. The evil of the world has distorted our vision of what “good and bad” really mean. We have a worldly perspective on “good and bad”. But Galatians is talking about an eternal, Kingdom perspective.

As a believer, the Fruit that you should be craving first and foremost is the Fruit from the Spirit. We should want this Fruit over everything else because it’s a salvation thing. It’s an everlasting life thing. And there is nothing more important than this.

Yet the Holy Spirit is the one thing people chase after the least.

The world wants the Fruit of the Spirit, but rejects the Spirit. The world is reaping what it has sown. It wants love, joy, and peace but it’s been sowing the wrong seeds.

You may want the Fruit of the Spirit too. Do you want unconditional love? Do you desire peace that transcends understanding? Do you want joy that doesn’t waiver due to circumstance? Well, we reap what we sow. Have you been sowing enough of the good seed to grow that Fruit inside of you?

You reap what you sow. Let's start sowing the good seed for a good everlasting harvest in 2021!!

Protect God’s Temple and Resist the enemy
1801

Let me tell you what I have been hyper aware of this past week...the enemy. The liar, the devil, satan. I’ve been hyper aware of his lies in my life, the lives of my friends, even the lives of my friends on social media just based on stories and posts I see. He is so good and scheming and masking how he is working through the world. So good, in fact, we might not even blame him. We don’t even notice his hand in so many things. We have become desensitized to him and his schemes.  I still ask myself, “Why does God allow this to happen?” … but was it really God? Sometimes it is. And I don’t have the answer to that question. But sometimes, it’s the enemy. And it’s been on my heart for about a week. I’ve been so angry with the enemy because he gets away with so many things! Does that make you angry too?? My God gets blamed for so many things and the enemy gets zero credit. It’s so unfair, hence my anger, and probably my hyper awareness.

So today, I want to bring awareness to the enemy and his schemes. I want to remove our blinders about him. This enemy has one job: to steal, kill, and destroy.  He will plot, scheme, lie, and manipulate anything he can so steal our joy, peace and salvation. Kill our relationships and everlasting life in God. And destroy anything that brings praise and glory to God. And he sometimes does this without us ever knowing.

Are you going to let your soul be one of the ones he deceives?! I hope not! So let’s talk about ways you can recognize the enemy in your life and how you have the authority, through the power of Christ, to resist the enemy!

How do I love thy neighbor as myself?
1731

Last week, the word “love” was bothering me. That sounds funny to say, how can “love” bother you? But it was bothering me because I had unanswered questions. If we are supposed to love thy neighbor, how does that apply to them vs. their sin? Our phrase “love is love” bothered me and I couldn’t put my finger on why.  How can I love yet correct sin? Is that even possible? Does love thy neighbor mean I don’t correct? That doesn’t seem right since God hates sin. But how does love and correction work together? Surely they had to, I just didn’t know how.

So with all of these tabs open in my the computer screen of my chaotic mind, I spent some of my quiet time last week really studying “love”. What does God say about love? Digging deeper into love thy neighbor. Studying 1 Corinthians 13, aka the “love chapter”.

And you are getting the product of all of my studying and revelation with this episode! What does this look like, to love my neighbor as myself?  To answer that, we first have to understand God’s definition of love because we cannot lean on our own understanding, you know! So just like I say, if you want a closer relationship with Jesus, you need to get to know Him. The more you get to know Jesus, the more you will understand agape love and the more you will be able to show it to others around you, like we are supposed to.

Growing closer to Christ Part 3: Faith without works is dead
1273

Today, we are wrapping up our final episode of the series “Growing closer to Christ”. In part 1, we talked about the genealogy of Christ. How he descended from sinners, a long lineage of sinners. And that was on purpose! It’s symbolic of how Christ is the ultimate sacrifice. How His blood does cover all of our sins and shame. And, most importantly in my opinion, how we can come as we are. Then, in Part 2 we talked about what faith is all about. What is faith? How do I get faith? And I really challenged you to step into that confident, unwavering faith in Christ. Sometimes we claim to have faith, but faith is confidence in what we cannot see and as human, we struggle when we cannot see what is going to happen next. So our faith faulters and we fall into our anxiety and worry default modes. But there is freedom and joy in Christ! So all of that leads me into the last leg.

Growing closer to Christ Part 3: Faith without works is dead.

And this comes from James 2:14-26.

Last week didn’t I say that Romans 10 says “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”? And Ephesians repeatedly says that “it is by grace through faith you have been saved. And it’s a gift from God-- not by works, so that no one can boast”? But James tells us "faith without works is dead". Are these two scriptures not contradicting themselves? Confused yet?

And at first glance, it can look like they are contradicting themselves. But when you study it a little deeper, they actually do not go against one another, they support one another.

Growing closer to Christ - Part 2: What is TRUE faith?
1825

Do you have something in your house that you had good intentions to use, but you just never got around to using it? A treadmill? One of those exercise mirrors? Maybe it’s an air fryer, instant pot, or stand mixers? Does that thing do you any good just sitting there? Absolutely not, right?! We can’t just stare at a treadmill hoping to get into shape. That instant pot is not going to just cook food magically on its own. Trust me, I’ve tried! All of these things require action on our ends.

Our faith operates in the exact same way.

But what is faith? How do I know I have “faith”?  How do I get that confident belief in God?? I want that!

There isn’t a secret sauce devotional or worship music you are required to listen to to grow your faith and grow closer to Christ. It’s simple! Keep your eyes on Jesus! Study how he did it! Study how he has that confident belief, that confident faith! When you face opposition, a trial, a temptation, a negative thought, anger, anxiety, consider Jesus! Go over His story yet again! You can’t do it too many times, I promise! Learn how he endured hardship, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Faith is confident belief in our God. Confident belief in His promises for us.  There are no special hoops you have to jump through to receive grace through faith. There are not any elaborate rituals or ceremonies required to receive grace through faith. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. You will be saved. That is faith. And you will grow that confident faith as you continue to learn about Jesus. Study the word. Open your Bible and just read.

Next week, we will cover how faith transforms your actions and thoughts. (That is for everyone who likes to throw out the “faith without works is dead” verse. I got yall. You think I am going to leave that out? Of course not. But that deserves it’s own episode. )

I first want to help you establish that confident belief in Jesus Christ. That’s the first step to Salvation and Heaven. One step at a time.

Happy 1 year anniversary to the podcast! - how far we have come!
1732

Can you believe it has already been ONE YEAR?!
It has been one year since the very first episode of this podcast!

Thank you so much to all of my loyal listeners who listen and share with their friends on a weekly basis! Your sharing and love have meant the world to me this past year! To all of our newer listener, I love having you with us and I cannot wait to get you know you more closely in this upcoming year!

In honor of our one year anniversary, I wanted to show everyone just how far we have come. This podcast started despite the fact I felt totally unqualified to even be the host of a podcast. I had zero experience, zero equipment, and zero courage to do this. But, as Phil 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength," God literally gave me the courage, words, and strength to follow through with His calling on my heart. God has allowed this podcast to go from 600 downloads in its first month to almost 50k! He has continually provided the wisdom and words to give you 54 weekly episodes and I pray He continues to provide me with the words to pour into you, my listeners, week after week.

Thank you so much for all of your love and support as we have figured out this podcasting/ministry thing together. See you guys on the next 54 episodes!

Love, Val

Growing closer to Christ - Part 1: Come as you are
1554

Over and over I was presented with the same or similar question, “How can I grow closer to Jesus?” Other variations include, “How do I have a relationship with Jesus?” “My relationship with Jesus is broken, how do I heal it?” So, in honor of my putting my Christmas decor up for the year (I take Christmas very seriously over here ha!), lets spend some of this time of year focusing on the main thing: JESUS! And more importantly, how can you have that intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, too.

So this Part 1: Come as you are

This podcast episode is for you if you:
You want to be closer to Jesus, but you feel like you’re just too broken as you are.
You’ve made way too many mistakes.
You think Jesus would never forgive some of the things you’ve done or the thoughts you’ve thought.
You don’t feel “good” enough or “clean” enough to even be worthy of a relationship with Him.
You have lived thinking that you have to “be good” first, then Jesus will accept you.
You think you have to “clean up your act” and then He will see you’re a good person.
You think that you’re just unforgivable so what’s the point?

I want you to be able to  REJOICE with a new relationship with God because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. It’s never been a fix yourself, then come situation. It has always been a “come as you are” invitation.

The Gospel Parallels: https://www.gospelparallels.com/

Dedication Prayer:
"Heavenly Father, I believe your son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins. I believe he was resurrected from the dead and is alive. I repent of my sins. I submit my will to you and invite Jesus Christ to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. ... In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen."

Called to a quiet spirit
1514

Today might be a little difficult to accept by a few of you. And by a few of you, I mean me. If you have a spirit that is loud, outgoing, passionate, energized, opinionated, what we are going to talk about today will be challenging. Because we are going to tackle 1 Peter 3:3-4. It says “Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”

Incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit…

I don’t know about yall, but I struggle with having a quiet and gentle spirit. Opinionated doesn’t even begin to touch the surface of who I am. I am bold in what I am passionate about. You want an honest opinion, I am ya girl!  I am super competitive and want to win. I don’t mind taking charge, being the boss, and delegating jobs to people in the group. (I was the one, in school, who took charge of the group project and made sure everything was done correctly.)

But we also can’t ignore what 1 Peter says. Our adornment (things we put on to enhance our beauty and worth) cannot just be outwardly. We can’t just look the part of being a Christian woman. We have to act the part too. And acting the part comes with having “incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.” So stay with me. I can already feel the resistance. Gentle and quiet might not be your forte, but would you agree that because they are characteristics precious in God’s sight, that they are things we need to pursue? I agree too. If it is precious in God’s sight, then I need to strive for those things.

Be IMITATORS of Christ, not just believers
1918

“How do I know what is Christ-like and what is not?”

I get this question a lot.  God’s standard for us is a tall order! But He calls us to be less like the world and more like Christ! We can live under the influence of culture or we can live under the influence of God. In other words, we have free will as a Christian and daily we have to ask ourselves, “are our actions, words, decisions, etc being more influenced by the world or by God?” What is “good” in the eyes of the world doesn’t always live up to the standard of “goodness” biblically. And the danger of living by the standard of the world’s watered-down definition of “good” is that, as believers and followers of Christ, we think we are doing good, we think we are living as a “good person”, but we are falling significantly short of the standard God wants us to follow.

You can watch an episode of Grey’s Anatomy, be entertained, and then go on about your life. You follow it, you keep up with it, but about 45 minutes of drama, you pick life right back up and you’re not changed. We can do the same thing with what we read in the Bible. We read it, we might get some relief or entertainment from it, and then we go on about our life and nothing changes. We are called to be IMITATORS of Christ, not just followers.

So let's dive into this question:  “how do I know I am properly imitating Christ?”

We are continuing this faith over fear series and we are tackling doubts! Oh doubts. Those “I’m not good enough...I am not worth saving...I am not worth loving...scared to do it because you’re afraid of what people will say...doubting because you fear rejection...doubting because we don’t think we have the skills to accomplish it...and doubt that makes us just count ourselves out all together!” Yep. Doubts. We don’t like them. They make us feel horrible and worthless. Yet, we listen to them and keep them around. And it is so hard to break that vicious cycle in our heads, isn’t it?

Our doubts can be so loud, they drown out our faith.  I would be curious to see what kind of statistic it would be if we kept count of all of the decisions we made based on our doubts rather than our faith. Yet, as Christians, that seems backwards, doesn’t it? As daughters of the King, knowing all that God has done and can do for us, you would think we would automatically choose our faith over our doubts! Right? My God has never lost, He has never lost a battle, nothing is more powerful than Him, so how come I rarely take that into consideration when I am facing yet another doubt?

Don’t worry, you’re not alone. But just because there are so many of us who struggle with putting faith over doubt doesn’t give us permission to wallow in our doubt. Oh no ma’am! You daughter of the King are made to RISE UP and CONQUER this doubt!

Faith over Fear: Trust the Process
1645

The background of the title is actually an inspiration from my husband’s football team. Their team motto is TTP- Trust the process. It serves as their daily reminder that in order to be a force to be reckoned with, in order to see the end result they want (which is obviously to win games), they have to trust the process. They have to trust that the pain of a vigorous weight lifting program will pay off. They have to trust that many hours of tough practices will pay off. They have to trust the one in charge, the coaches, that they really know what they are doing and they have your best interest at heart.

Does this sound familiar to you? Maybe God’s motto for your life sounds a whole lot like TTP?

"Trust the process, Valarie." - God

In order for you to be a force to be reckoned with as a warrior woman of God, you have to TTP. In order for you to see the end result I want for your life, you have to trust the process. You have to trust that the pain of a vigorous season in your life will pay off. You have to trust that the many hours of tough circumstances will pay off. You have to trust the one in charge, your ultimate coach in life, God, really does know what He is doing and He truly has your best interest at heart!!

And what better story to remind us to trust the process than the ultimate “trust the process” story of Joseph in the Old Testament.

Isn’t our God a God that can turn beauty from ashes? Isn’t our God a God that can tell dead, dry bones to rise up? So how come, in my own rotten situation, I don’t remind myself of those things? Why do I allow the devil to take my rotten situation and cause me harm? Yep, we allow the devil to stay. We allow him to stay because we allow our rotten situation to turn our thoughts rotten. We don’t stop to remind ourselves to TTP! Trust the one who is in control of ALL THINGS!

BONUS EPISODE// Coaching session - The Attitude of our minds
2389

Did I surprise you with a bonus episode today?!

Big thanks to my coaching client, Sydney, for allowing me to record our latest coaching session and share it publicly with everyone!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In this bonus episode, I am giving you insight into what a clarity coaching session with me sounds like!

If you are curious on how you can be apart of my one-on-one clarity coaching session, head over to my Instagram and send me a DM! We can schedule a quick 10 min consult call to see if this is what you have been needing in order to grow a stronger, more closer relationship with God!

Having Faith > Fear: Part 1
1645

Today, we are going to talk about that dreaded thing we call fear. Yep. That thing we carry around with us. That thing our minds tell us is needed to “protect us”. That thought that keeps daughters of the King like you and I playing small ball. Our old buddy we have let hang around for way too long. Today, we are going to tell it to shut the heck up and go back where it came from!

Today’s episode starts a new series titled Faith > Fear. This is part 1.
our minds tell us something totally different about fear, doesn’t it?

We like to listen to fear. Fear gives us an excuse to stay in our comfort zones. Our minds are default programmed to think fear keeps us safe. Nope, if it makes me scared, that is just evidence it’s not meant to be. How many times have you believed that in your life?

And this faith > fear thing, it’s autobiographical for me too. I’m sure you have heard this preached once or twice or like 100 times before. Matthew 14 is a very popular set of scripture. I will be honest, fear kept me second guessing myself when I decided this was the passage I was going to teach from. BIG pastor names have used it in their preaching. I almost chose a different passage to do an episode on. Therefore, this very episode you are listening to is a product of me having to push past my own fear to create something beautiful out of faith!

In order to exercise our faith to make it greater than our fears, we have to use it! Turn that faith mode ON and fear mode OFF! And that is what we are going to learn today! When you say things like “this is just proof this isn’t for me,” is it based on your own understanding or your trust in the Lord? Is it based on your feeling of discomfort or your confidence in your God?

Stop comparing yourself
1902

This topic really hits home for me. Jealousy and comparison are two places in my life where the devil knows he can get a foothold into my confidence, courage, and boldness. And until recently, I have been so ashamed to admit this fault.

There is always someone with a prettier IG feed. Someone who is always in better shape than you. Someone who makes more money than you. And what the world doesn’t teach us is how to handle this conundrum. We don’t take a class in HS or college that teaches us an abundance mindset vs scarcity mindset. Our scarcity mindset leads to jealousy, negative competition, comparison, and leaving you feeling like you are less than if you’re not the best.

And the Bible gives us a perfect story that depicts jealously and comparison with Leah and Rachel. We join me as we study the story of these two sisters and how their jealousy of one another lead them to fight over the wrong thing. And how we can use their story as a reminder to fix our eyes on the real place where our value comes from, our God.

Caught in the Grumbling
1512

Today, we are going to the Old Testament, the book of Exodus! We are picking up right after Moses led his people out of Egypt. We had the plagues, we had the parting of the Red Sea, and now we find the Israelites in their first few days of being free people. God had just finished performing all of these unexplainable plagues, they just witnessed the parting of the sea, a MIRACLE. If you were to witness a miracle, you would think that you would be faithful to the Lord forever, right?

Barely 3 days after celebrating their exodus out of Egypt, their tone now goes to “grumbling”. This word is used over and over again to describe the Israelites on their journey to the promised land. They literally didn’t make it passed 3 days before they started complaining again!

Do you know what this sounds like? It sure does sound like me. And I would venture to guess it could sound an awful like you too. Things aren’t going our way, we have lost our jobs, more month at the end of the money, business isn’t growing. We grumble over our lazy husband, crazy kids, demanding job. Life feels stale. Life feels unfulfilled. There is more trouble than what you anticipated. And we grumble. We complain. Where are you God?! Why did you leave me?! Why are you letting this happen to me?! Did I screw up?

Yet, just like the Israelites, we too forget the moments in between the grumbling where The Lord actually provided. So allow this to be your reminder.

Where will this path of faith lead me?
1574

Today, we are back in the book of Ruth! Last week, we dove into the very first chapter of the book. And I left you with a challenge to step into your inner Ruth. Let Orpah take the bench for a while, and walk in faith like Ruth walked.

But what happens to Ruth and Naomi?! What happens next after I walk in obedience to God? Remember, our focus is faith and following faith in obedience to God, even when it’s full of uncertainty. And sometimes there is work to be done in your waiting.

Have you ever been in a season of life where God made you wait and wait and wait and wait? Or maybe you’re in that season right now! Maybe you did follow your inner Ruth and you are walking obediently in faith! You’ve given up certain things of the flesh that made you “happy” and now you’re like ok God, where is that joy you told me about? My life is still pretty crappy. I’m still battling depression and I feel super broken. Where is my healing? Maybe you’re starting a new business endeavor, working so consistently and just don’t see any fruits of your labor yet. Like ok God You told me to pursue this. I don’t see any benefit yet. Growth takes consistency and work. And Ruth worked without knowing what God had in store for her.

Add this to the list of Ruth characteristics to live by: working while we wait.

Does Ruth get a "happy ending"? What were God's bigger plans for her? What are God's bigger plans for me? Oh they happen! But I am not going to put spoiler alerts in the show notes.

What if Ruth had decided to stay in her comfort zone? What all that would have been missed? Join me and let's find out together!

Which path will you take?
1674

Life is hard. Life is demanding. Life can let us down. People can let us down. Life can have sucky moments. - So this takes me to the book of Ruth. The beginning of Ruth starts off with life being hard.

There are two sister-in-laws who just became widows, Ruth and Orpah. They faced a choice after their husbands died: go back to their old culture and what they knew, or do down this new path of faith and uncertainty? They Moabite women. Their culture worshiped false gods. But the second choice was following their mother-in-law Noami back to Bethlehem, where they believed in God, Yahweh.

Which path have you been choosing lately?

Have you been Orpah: you’re a good woman, you’re kind, you love, you try your best, but you like your comfort zone? Maybe when things are dark and twisty, you pray to Him. But when things are good, He doesn’t hear much from you.  Or have you been Ruth? Or you’re being called to be more like Ruth? You are feeling that pull of God, that conviction that more is required of you.

In your life, you will always have 2 choices. God granted us free will. We always get to choose. My hope is that some light has been shown on decisions in your life where you picked comfort over faith. You’ve been acting a little too much like Orpah and not enough like Ruth.

If you have, it's ok, sister. It's never too late to start walking more like Ruth.

Faith-Seeker Series, Part 3: I am a good person, can I get into heaven?
1476

Hey friends! I wanted to let you know about two things I can offer you if you are feeling called to mature your faith, grow your relationship with God, but just don’t know where to begin. First, I have my Freedom in your Faith self-paced course! Here, you will get 5 units of knowledge packed lessons that will help guide you to evaluate your current foundation of faith, recognize any weak points to grow stronger, and how to turn that faith progress into boldness, confidence, and peace. I’m offering $100 to my podcast listeners so make sure you tell me you found it on the podcast so you can get that credit! The second thing I am offering are one-on-one clarity sessions. These clarity sessions are tailor made to you: your pain points, and will focus specifically on the areas of your life you’re wanting to grow as a Christian woman. Head to my Instagram @val_reynolds, follow me, and send me a DM that you’re interested in more info about how to work more closely with me and we can figure out what will be the best fit for you!

-----------------------------------------

This week, we are continuing our Faith Seeker Series with Part 3! I am a good person, can I get into heaven?

The straightforward answer. No. By themselves, things like being a “good person” or doing “good works” will not get you into heaven. The reason? Your good works do not erase your sins.

So it is hopeless for me? Nope! You are welcome into heaven! But how? What about the works? Can I just believe in Jesus and then go about continuing to do things that please the flesh, knowing that my sins are forgiven?

It can get confusing, so join me in Part 3 of the Faith Seeker Series. Because only by God’s grace, through faith, can we see heaven. Our works alone cannot earn us a spot in heaven. God makes us righteous through Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way we are righteous enough to make it to heaven.

You will leave with clarity!

Faith-Seeker Series Part 2: How can I have faith when everything around me is falling apart?
1328

Today, we continue our faith-seekers series and I wanted to tackle a very tough topic. How can I have faith when everything around me is falling apart? Gosh, that is such a honest question and I would bet many of us, including myself, have asked this a time or two in our lives. Do not feel like you are less than a Christian if you have asked this question before. We are human. We are not perfect. There is no harm in asking honest questions when you’re searching for an answer. The harm can happen when you’re asking this question in the absence of wanting an answer. So if you are open to hearing this world and truly finding your answer to your question “how can I have faith when everything around me is falling apart?”, keep listening.

Our suffering sure does allow us a chance to blame God as a way to make us feel better. We have thoughts like “How is God a good Father yet He allows this happen? -- If He loved me, He wouldn’t allow me to suffer like this --

Because, in the end, God is not here for us and our comfort. We are here to praise Him and give Him glory.

Your struggles, your sufferings, yeah they’re no fun. No one wants to suffer. But when you do, or if you are currently suffering, you get to choose what to do with your suffering: Are you going to see it as an opportunity to mature your faith? To be  like Job and still praise God’s name even in the middle of the storm? Are you going to shine through your struggles so the people around you see how strong and mature your faith is? What a witness you will be if you choose to do that!!

Faith-Seeker Series Part 1: Am I worthy enough?
1527

We are diving into a Faith-seekers series. This is for those of you who are seeking that closer relationship with God. But you don’t know where to start. You doubt your faith. You can’t hear God. You feel like you’re too far gone. - Sister, you are NONE of these things. So to kick this off, we are going to study Jesus’ first miracle, turning water into wine and how He saves His best for your last.

This is the first miracle of Jesus - It was a small miracle. Nothing grandiose. Normally, this verse is used to as a metaphor for the covenant bring new life from old. It’s symbolic of the world being concerned with external things: making the right impression, having the right clothes and purse, followers on social media, etc. But God is concerned with things being right on the inside: he wants to forgive our sins; he wants to give us the gift of eternal life and he wants us to start living that Kingdom-purpose life. He wants to transform us from people of the world to people of His Kingdom.

Your life is redeemed because of Jesus Christ. If you want to start filling your cup back with His living water, you don’t have to earn it. God can and will still give you His best even when you feel like you’ve ran out.

Holiness doesn’t come from your inner pride, ambition, hard work, achievements, or how many people like you. Holiness comes from Jesus. Applying what he taught and obeying God’s word over your flesh. Over what your thoughts tell you. Over what people tell you. Your first step to become a faith-seeker is to seek first his kingdom. Seek Jesus. Read about his miracles. Open up that bible and start in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Get to know who Jesus was, what he did, the miracles he performed. The more you get to know who Jesus was, the more your faith will grow.

Filling your cup up with the right kind of water
1814

What have you been allowing to give you a false sense of value and worth?

How many followers I have on social media? How many people like my posts? Whether or not our job is impressive or just ordinary and plain? Flashy vacations and clothes make us feel valuable and pretty?

We make all of these things so important that they start to become idols in our lives. We begin to worship them more than we worship God.  We begin to be more concerned about them more than we are concerned about our relationship with God.

Today, we break down the story of the Samaritan woman in John 4. God have traveled a long way for you to ask for water.  We need water to survive, correct. Without real water, we die. But Jesus isn’t talking about water-water anymore. He is talking about Himself being the living water.  He is LIFE. HE is EVERYTHING. Without Him, we DIE. WE perish to hell. But He doesn’t want that for His daughter. No matter how far away you are, even if you have made mistakes, have a bad reputation, He is coming through Samaria for YOU.

Are you still focused on that worldly water? The kind you drink and get thirsty again later? The kind that gives you worldly value, yet we wonder why we still feel empty and not whole. Or are you doing things for the Lord, finding your value in the Lord, feeling whole in Him, and drinking that living water?

It's time to release your control, my fellow control freak.
1812

Are you a control freak like me? You want things your way. You have a hard time allowing others to help you because you’re afraid they will “do it wrong.” Do you have a habit of hustle and grind, getting overworked and ending up exhausted because “if it’s meant to be, it’s up to me!” You get that anxious feeling when you have to delegate trust and duties? You are a planner and if the next week isn’t planned out to perfection with all of your answers answered, you live the next 7 days in worry and stress? You hate not knowing how things will turn out. You lose sleep because of to-do lists. I could keep going and going because this is literally my life.

Sometimes, my inner control freak gets so out of hand, it can gets in the way of my faith and belief in God. My “if it’s meant to be, it’s up to me” attitude can cause me to grind and hustle, leaving me to forget God plays a huge part in my success. I do what I think is best to try to get the results I want...and sometimes what I want is not always what God wants for me.

So today, we study the story of Abraham and Sarah. Sarah, was a control freak like us. Her and her husband has a huge blessing promised from God, but Sarah really struggled with believing it would ever come true. So she took matters into her own hands, and it did not turn out like she wanted. Her promise starts off in Chapter 15. It is finally fulfilled in Chapter 21.

It's time to stop worrying and stressing about how fast or slow your timeline is. Stop being anxious over your chapter 21 that isn’t even here yet. That’s not your job. You just think you’re in control. Funny thing is, God has the control. So give your control back to God. See how that looks on you for a while. I have a feeling, you’ll going to like it.

Bonus Episode! Mindset Reset - Rest, sister.
484

Ahhh! Who doesn't extra episodes during the week?

Be extra, like guac. That's my life motto.

God prompted me to do a quick bonus episode this week over something He had to remind me of yesterday...REST, SISTER. Yesterday, I allowed my mind to get overwhelmed. Kids + work + to-do lists + negativity on social media = a very impatient, frustrated Valarie. And I was not liking the person I was being. Then, God reminded me of a crucial verse in Luke about how even Jesus rested. He would have to go away to lonely places to rest. And if Jesus had to do it, then we need to do it too.

So I encourage you today to be spiritual aware. Are you feeling stressed and overwhelmed and that is overflowing into your day? Breathe and rest in His presence today. Let God just love on you for a moment and fill your cup back up.

Have a testimony, not an excuse
1606

Do you have something in your life right now, maybe a dream, and aspiration, maybe a prayer or a request, that just seems impossible? You don’t see how you can do it on your own? You don’t see how it’s even possible? You don’t feel capable enough to handle it? You don’t feel like you’re made to achieve this dream you have? All the doubt, worry, skepticism is flooding your mind and you can’t see past it. You’re staring at a Goliath and it’s too scary and big to conquer.

I thought of the story of David and Goliath. Goliath was coming out of this tent daily and taunting the Israelites, making them scared and fearful. They didn’t think they were strong enough to defeat Goliath or the Philistines. They felt too small, too weak. The task as hand felt unconquerable. Kind of like how you might feel right now?

David was told by many people, including King Saul, "You're JUST a boy." Do you have a Saul voice in your head telling you "you're just a mom" or "you're just a woman"? So many times we allow our inner Saul voice to win. We listen to the fears, we listen to our doubts, we listen to the doubts and concerns of others, and we allow our excuses to control our outcomes.

Have you been allowing your excuses to win? Have you been allowing your excuses to hold you down, keep you from growing? Have you been obeying your fears instead of being obedient to God? Do you have an excuse? Or do you want a testimony? How do you want your story to pan out?

I don’t want excuses anymore. I want a testimony.

God's love is relationship goals
1498

Today, I wanted to focus on relationships. While I don’t consider myself an expert , I have been married for almost 11 years, been together for almost 13. And prior to my husband, I dealt with plenty of heartbreak. So this episode is focusing on the things I have learned about relationships, love, marriage. And hopefully you can take something and apply it to your current or future relationships so they are God centered.

First, you need to understand what love is and where love comes from. For God is love. Maybe you are feeling a void in your soul from where your love used to be. And right now you’re feeling like the only way that void can be filled is back with the one who broke it. But the love of a man is not what will make you whole. 1 John says “God is love”. It doesn’t say your spouse is love. It doesn't say your ex is love. It says GOD is love. A partner won’t make you whole. God’s love makes you whole.
Be whole in God. God is love. You need to fully know God before you can love.

God’s love is perfect. God’s love is pure. God’s love is everlasting. God sent his son to die on the cross for His church. So your spouse should love you unconditionally. Not just when He wants to. Not just when it’s convenient for him. UNCONDITIONALLY. Love is not selfish. Love is not about what you can do for him and he disrespects you. He shouldn’t only be around when it’s convenient for him. He shouldn’t only call you when he wants something. He shouldn’t be ashamed of you. He should love you as much as he loves himself. He should love you the way GOD loves the church. That should be your standard! Do not settle for anything less.

Your marriage. Your relationship should be one of 3 strands. One strand is you. One strand is your spouse. One strand is God. Have a God-centered marriage. One where you are whole in God. Your husband is whole in God. And together, you’re not easily broken. Your spouse shouldn't fill your void. You’re setting them up for failure because their human. They’re not perfect. They will let you down. But God is love. And if you both know God, you will both know love. And you’re marriage will not easily be broken.

Breaking the chains of worry
1467

Worry is so widespread, so commonplace, we just expect it in our lives, don’t we? And I don’t think any of us are immune to worry, including me. So this is for anything who struggles with worry. Deep struggles. Occasional struggles. Daily struggles. Struggles every once in a while.

Worry keeps us from looking at the blessings in our life. Worry keeps us from remembering God’s truths and promises about our life. Worry keeps us laser focused on fear, the unknown, this cycle of scary and fearful thoughts that we dwell on. And the more we dwell on them, the scarier the what-if scenarios become. The bigger the worry fire becomes.

Worry is NOT from God. It is not ok to sit in your worry. It is not ok for your soul and your faith to dwell in your anxiety. Who called you an anxious person? Who titled you a worrisome person? Says who?? Says you? Says the devil? How about says God??

NOT ANY MORE!

Do not let the devil win any more because of your worry. You want to conquer your worry? Fertilize that faith of yours. Have such a strong Faith (being hopeful for what we cannot see) that you can look at your worry and say “listen. I see you worry. And I can choose to sit in you. But I don’t choose you. I choose not to dwell in you any longer. Because I know My God will come through. Again. Like he has done for me time and time again. God fights my battles. He has gone before me. And I have that kind of Faith so you can say "You have no more power over me, worry!”

Are your habits suffocating your growth?
1586

Today, I want to talk about habits. I think we all can agree there are good habits and bad habits. Some of us have good eating habits. We eat healthy foods, lots of fruits and veggies, avoiding processed sugars, avoiding too much of a good thing like carbs or fats. You do things in moderation and you make good choices. Others of us have bad eating habits. We give our bodies empty calories, too much processed food, too many sugars, too many carbs, too much sodium. And have you ever tried to break that bad habit? You know your body needs more fruits and veggies...but you find yourself going back to the same old bad eating habit. You know better! But knowing and doing are two totally different things. And more often than not, the bad habit eventually starts winning again.

Now that’s about a physical habit, but we have spiritual habits too.

Just as our bodies need healthy foods to maintain our energy and physiology in the right way, our spirit also needs it’s healthy portions of God’s word, grace, and love in order to remain healthy. But some of us suffer from bad eating habits for our spirit. We want to fill our souls up with God’s promises, but we still want to entertain the lies and deceit that come from the devil. We want to walk more closely with God, but we can’t seem to shake that inner voice of shame and guilt telling us we aren’t worthy enough. And this can make us feel helpless. It can make us struggle with our belief in God. It can cause us to constantly feel like we will never be good enough to walk confidently on the journey He has prepared for us.

So today’s episode is titled “Are your habits suffocating your growth?” Because if they are, we are going to put a stop to them today. Today, we are going to draw a line in the sand, leaving our old habits behind us and we are going to step into our truths and promises CONFIDENTLY. Because you actually can break your old habits. You are not chained to them. Those chains can be broken. Your old self is gone today. You will walk in your new truths TODAY.

Knock out the Negativity
1419

In today’s episode, I wanted to tackle our negative thoughts. Our minds are constantly filled with these toxic negative self-talk but negative thoughts go beyond our self-talk. Our fears of the future are negative thoughts. Cancelling out a positive with a negative statement is a form of our negative thoughts. “I lost 3 lbs this week but I was aiming for 5 lbs so I’m still fat.” Focusing on the one frustrating hour that happened today with the kid instead of remembering the other 23 hours that were actually peaceful and full of joy and laughter.

And so many times, we don’t even begin to recognize these “smaller” negative thoughts as toxic, do we? They seem so small and harmless. They are out of habit ad we don’t even realize they're negative. Some of us have a habit of being negative and we don’t even realize we do it.

So what I want to focus on today is two things:

  1. Help you recognize the negativity and toxic thoughts in your daily life
  2. Help you pivot that thought back around to the positive, the thought that is based on God’s promises and truths

This is not about turning you into positive polly and you walk around like a cheerleader 24/7, all perky and smiling. This is about living a life in accordance with Jesus Christ. It is about keeping our minds centered on God. It’s about allowing God to infiltrate EVERY aspect of our lives, including our thoughts. Most importantly our thoughts!

Don’t you want to be living a life where God is with you, providing you with this peace that transcends our understanding? Do you want to keep going down this road of being the negative nancy? (sorry nancy). How does life feel when you’re mind is saturating with negative, down, fearful thoughts? It’s pretty exhausting isn’t it. We don’t like to be there. So let me help you start practicing capturing our thoughts and focusing our energies only on our thoughts “worthy of praise”.

Finding your strength when you're feeling weak- Part 2
2180

This is a continuation of our two part series from last week! Last week, I started a series called How to find your strength when you’re feeling weak. And we talked about Step 1- moving over and resting. Trusting God in faith to handle things. Taking your Sabbath. We are not make everlasting, so we need to recharge. It was all about letting Jesus take the wheel and you need to realize you need REST.

This week- it’s going to be fun. If your nature is more of fight first, Part 2 is going to be right up your alley. Or you know what, even if you’re not the put-up-a fight first women, this is still for you! Don’t count yourself out for this because this is so important to understand and practice. But it’s definitely the more “hands on” approach of finding your strength when you’re feeling weak.

“ Kingdom-style leaders who do this are a force to be reckoned with and make Satan quake because he has nothing in his armory to stop them.” -- Armory -- Armour -- The Armour of God. So Step 2 of finding your strength when you’re feeling weak: put on that amour and protect yourself! The devil isn’t a dummy. He is smart. He knows the exact atmosphere that is conducive to you creating your own self destruction. BUT- if I arm myself with the armour of God, I will be more aware of how the atmosphere around me changes! Let’s go over them first and I will explain how they will protect you from yourself. How you can use them to fight off those things that wear us down and make us tired.

You know that saying “be the woman who’s feet hit the ground and makes satan say “oh crap, she’s up.” Make him say oh crap she’s up! Because you know how to use your armor, sister!! Make satan get on the defensive, backing up, doing what he can to keep you from scoring. Don’t let him or any of this atmosphere changes keep you down, weak and exhausted. RISE UP!

Finding your strength when you're feeling weak- Part 1
1747

What does feeling weak mean to you? For some of you, you feel weak when you have too much on your plate and are feeling exhausted and burnt out. For others, feeling weak might mean to give to everyone else and you haven’t taken care of yourself in a while. Still for others, it could be you’re not feeling successful, you’re not making the strides you want to make in your businesses. Maybe the devil is on full blown attack mode and nothing is going right right now: this is breaking, this isn’t working, then someone got sick, maybe you lost your job? Maybe your hours got cut? Maybe you’re full of worry, stress, anxiety and that sucks the energy and life out of you.

Feeling weak is going to be different for everyone. But what I want to leave you with today is how you can find your strength again. Our weakness is God’s moment to step in for us. We are not strong enough alone. We feel weak, tired, exhausted, worries, anxious, etc because we are trying to do anything and everything under our own strength. We hustle and work hard for our businesses and burn-out because we only tap into our own power reserve.

What if we stopped treating God like a magic genie and instead, we literally let Jesus take the wheel. (corny I know!) You would rather push through life, tired, exhausted, hungry, on an empty tank than pulling over and giving complete control to God! You would rather hustle a little bit more than take a 24 hour Sabbath, day of rest, giving God a full day to work for you. You would rather do all of the chores than ask your husband for help because “he doesn’t do then right”. You refuse to get a babysitter for 2 hours to watch the kids so you want have that quiet time and rest. You won’t ever say no to a plan because you’re too afraid of hurting that person's feelings, even if you’re already stretched thin and running around like a chicken with your head cut off.  I know you want to be super woman! But you’re not made to be super woman! Pull over and let someone else drive! REST! Even God rested! Do we forget this? You were not made almighty, indestructible, with unlimited energy. God has gifted you a day of rest! Why do we not take it?

Let's dive into this together is Part 1 of a two part series: Finding your strength when you're feeling weak.

Having Insufficent Funds
1948

This one is for all of my listeners who are struggling to feel like what you do is enough, stugglings with comparison, and struggling with feeling uphappy about your circumstance most of the time. If that resonated with you, this episode is for you.

I first want to start off by saying you are NOT the only one who feels like this. These women who you think have these perfect lives, perfect homes become more human when you see they struggle just like you do, including myself. But what does God say about our overwhelm, our feelings of lack, unworthiness, insufficency? Is there anything we can do to not live this life where we feel so out of control, as if our stress and overwhelm are dictating our lives 24/7?

Join me in this episode as we break down one of my favorite verses in Phillipians and shine a light on the key to helping you break your struggles on insufficency! What if our cure for overwhelm was instead EXCESSIVELY surrounding ourselves with our THANKSGIVING? Saturating our thoughts and minds with our grateful acknowledgment of the blessings and gifts God has already given you? Could our overwhelmed lives be overwhelmed if thanksgiving was our constant thought?

After this podcast, you will have what it takes to start having more days of feeling sufficient, worthy, and grateful.

Keeping your actions in alignment with God's word
1867

I was torn with where to go with this podcast episode. If you are listening at a later date, right now this podcast is being recorded on 6/7/20, in the middle of a lot of discord with our nation. We just suffered a tragedy of the murder of George Floyd and it has sparks a national debate over racism. And honestly, with a social media and podcast platform, you question yourself. "Do I say anything on my platforms?” “What do I say?”. You’re afraid to say something wrong or incorrectly. And when there are a lot of uncertain questions like that, our human nature tends to just make up clam up. We tend to get really quiet because we would prefer quiet than saying something to offend anyone. I recognize that. So I really had to lean on God this week for if and what do I say. And I wanted to also make sure than my decisions and my sharing where based on His word, His truth, and not by what I was consuming on social media.

That is what I want to discuss today. Let me guide you through your emotions and thoughts, and not tell you what to think or say, but instead help you focus on the truth of God’s word and allow Him to work through you. Allow Him to flow through your thoughts and words so you are grounded in Him. This won’t be so much me telling you what is right and wrong, how you should feel or not feeling, what you should post or not post. Just allowing God’s living word to speak to you. Be open to listening to God while I share some verses than have allowed me to shift my beliefs and my perspective , and be in alignment with God.

I hope this podcast is something you needed today. Sometimes we just need the guidance so we know how to form our thoughts not how we see fit, but in full alignment with God’s word.

Courage in your Confidence
1982

Confidence is probably the #1 thing I see lacking in so many of my girl friends. Lacking confidence is such an easy this to feel because we are constantly surrounded by the perfect lives of people on social media, other people's talents and skills we think are better than our own, and our past failures and experiences tell us that we just don't have what it takes to do better next time.

Did you know that personally, I struggle with comparison, jealousy, coventing, and people pleasing? It's easy to see where I am right now and assume that I don't have many struggles. But the truth of the matter is that you are getting to see the end result of a lot of self work and growing my faith. What you haven't seen are the days where the struggle was real and difficult. But you can become stronger, friend! You can grow your confidence! You are because a more confident woman!

So in today's episode, I give you 4 tangible areas in your life where you can focus on to help grow your confidence! I remind you of where your truths are from and what the Bible says about who you are and how you are valuable and worthy!

Taking Offense
1412

There will always be something said or done to you that will be offensive. We cannot control offenses being done to us. But we can control how we react to them. Now- when an offense happens TO you, it’s easy to recognize. You are on the receiving end. You can feel when someone is disrespecting you. You can feel the disdain and intent to hurt your feelings. And we cannot control how the other person acts or what they say. As much as some of us want to control the actions of others, we do not possess that power. We cannot control the offense being done to us. We cannot control what was said. We cannot control what was typed in a post or comment. We cannot control what is recorded on TV that is offensive to us. BUT- you can control how you REACT to them.

Now, the world is going to tell you to strike back! If you offend me, I am going to offend you! Your belief offended me, let me tell you how my opinion is correct. You have no right to talk to me that way, let me put you in your place! You allow yourself to be full of anger, resentment, and even condescending. That does not sound very Christ-like, does it. That does not sound like something a Christain should be walking in or doing. Yet so many of us do.

Be like Christ to the people around you, whether they are offensive to you or not. What are YOUR actions and words going to produce in response to that offense? Before you post that screenshot and start “putting someone in their place”, is that post producing love and joy? What about what it will trigger your friends to start doing? Are your actions going to produce peace, patience, and kindness in the comments of your friends? If those fruits of the spirit are not going to be produced, then don’t post it. Don’t say it.

Be mindful of how you react to offenses. Make it a point to produce the fruits of the spirit in all aspects of your life! Practice this and you will be absolutely amazed with how your perspective and outlook on the world changes.

Moving Forward Without Fear of the Future
1528

Have you been allowing your thoughts to cause so much chaos in your mind that you have been adding unnecessary worry and fear to your day? I see if all over my social media newsfeed. Yes, even I have my moments where thinking about the unknown and where we will be in the next few months gives me anxiety and stress.  Will school start again? Will we have to do homeschool again? It’s honestly exhausting and all of these questions begin to create fear and anxiety because frankly, we know none of these answers right now.

Fear was made to save your life. Now, your fear holds you back from trusting God. And many of us have the habit of creating fear when it’s not even necessary!  Fear is one of the strongest weapons the enemy has against us. Fear causes anxiety and stress. Fear causes lack of action. Fear causes paralysis in our faith.

This is a challenge for a perspective shift in our minds and hearts, ladies. We have formed a habit of adding excess worry to our day when there isn’t a need for it. The world tells you to fear. But, as a child of God, you are not of the world. Today, I challenge you to take back control of your thoughts that are running wild right now. Any thoughts about the future that are bringing in fear into today are not necessary. Let God work through those thoughts, he transforms you from the inside out. If He is for us, then who shall I fear?

Believe in yourself because God made you
1408

God thinks you’re good enough. Now it’s your turn to believe it.

I want to call out your false beliefs about yourself. Lies in our thoughts about who we are, what we are capable (or not capable of), that we don’t measure up, that we are lacking something, other’s are better than us, more skilled than us, they have something we don’t. I want to tell you friend, that those “beliefs” are lies. God did not create you unworthy. God did not create someone else better than you. God did not create you anxious. Those things are not from God. And if they are not from God, then why are we holding onto them like they are part of our identity?

I want to help you take that first step today to break that stronghold off of your life.I challenge you today to begin doing, start capturing your thoughts. Stop allowing your false beliefs to control your life. You control your mind. You control what you believe. You make a choice every day to choose to believe those false beliefs about yourself OR you can choose to deny them. Choose to understand and believe in your TRUTHS.

God doesn't work in your comfort zone
1602

Are you using “I prayed about it” as your excuse to cover up how you really feel which is “it takes me way past my comfort zone so I'm not to say no.”

Now don’t come after me!! Prayer is so important to your walk with God. It’s how we communicate with him. Our conversations bring us closer to him. And I encourage you to pray about any situation or decision, Big or Small!

BUT - Have you ever prayed about something, something that makes you uncomfortable, pushes you out of your comfort zone, and you choose to say no to that journey, not because God told you it’s not time, but because it simply just makes you uncomfortable? And to make yourself feel better about your decision you cover it up with the excuse “I prayed about it”.

What I want to do is shine a light on your heart. Have you ever not really wanted to listen for God's answer because God’s true answer to your prayer pushes you well past your comfort zone, your skills, your qualifications, your knowledge, and it’s full of uncertainty and unanswered questions.

Are you ignoring what God is calling you to because it's outside of your comfort zone?

The Blessing
1472

Today's podcast topic is based off of a song by Elevation Worship and Kari Jobe titled "The Blessing". I have listened to this song multiple times, but today it just hit me different. Maybe it was actually reading the lyrics on the tv screen vs. listening to them but they took on a new meaning today.

For weeks, our focus as a society has been the search for peace, comfort, and answering of questions. There is pain and suffering in the world and so many people are just looking for comfort.  But this song shifted my perspective. So today I don’t want to give you a “how to” of how to ask for peace, how to submit to God, how to feel better during this time. Today- I want to teach you how to speak blessings over your life. A manifestation of the future, how the future will be better than we can imagine. That God knows the plans he has for us!

Let us thank God right now for what the future already holds. Thank you Lord for protecting us during these storms. Thank you Lord for continuing to provide even though I didn’t see it in the moment. Thank God for that future you see. Thank him for providing for tomorrow. Thank him for your health he is going to give, tomorrow. Thank you Lord for the business boom that is going to happen once you open back up. And say them out loud! Journal them. Put them on paper. Speak them outloud!

Dear God, THANK YOU for your provision today and tomorrow! Amen.

Giving EVERYTHING to God
1819

What is going on in your life that is leaving you tired mentally or physically? Your kids are driving you nuts. You’ve lost your job. The government isn’t deeming you as essential. You are essential and people not following instructions are making you irritated. How are you handling all of this negative? Do you turn to social media to complain? Do you have complaints between friends? Venting to your spouse? It can be so easy to pass the complaining torch from one human being to another.

And one could argue this is just innocent. There isn’t any harm in venting and releasing it on social media right? “I just need to let it out to my best friend and i will feel better”...but...does it go away after you post? Does your problem go away after you vent to your mom or friend?

Sometimes I feel like we save God for only the big issues. We don't bother him with our "small problems". I would like to suggest a change in how we handle our issues. Nothing is too small to fit into your prayers. God wants to hear EVERY prayer, every request, big or small. Don’t discount your need by saying “oh this is nothing”, so you choose to skip over the filter of God’s layer first. If you’re thinking it, if you’re feeling it, it is something. And that something is big enough to present to God FIRST.

Right on Time
1752

Can you think of one time in your life you found yourself upset or frustrated because something didn’t quite pan out the way you intended? The end results didn’t match up to your timeline. Things aren’t going the way you want them to. They’re not going fast enough. There are more obstacles in your way than you anticipated. You feel like it's constantly taking 2 steps forward, one step back kind of a thing. sometimes all we feel is that God is telling us no. No- not right now. No- you’re not ready. No- just be patient. And right now, I feel like we are hearing even more No’s...no you can’t go back to work yet...no you can’t leave your home yet...no we are not done with this quarantine...and even I find myself getting frustrated at times. Frustration things are getting better faster.God I’m frustrated. You keep telling us no. Things are moving fast enough. This is not matching up with my timeline. MY timeline. Fix things on MY timeline. Make things happen on MY timeline...yet I have to self reflect. Is MY timeline always the perfect one? No. God’s timeline is perfect. Every single time it is perfect. He knows the ending. I should be BLINDLY trusting of this God...shouldn’t I? Continue to grow in God, grow your faith. Rejoice in Him always, even as He is making you wait.

His timing is perfect.

Addicted to the Dark
1728

Why was I so good just a few weeks ago and now I am moments I cannot hold it together? Do you feel weak? Tired? Exhausted? Maybe even frustrated? Angry? Like God we prayed?! Why isn’t it better?! Why do I still not have a job? How will we pay for our bills this month? I might kill my kids if I have to home school for the rest of the school year.

I can tell you why I’ve been the way I’ve been...It’s because I got addicted to the dark. I am consuming all the social media, all the negativity, I’m reading all of the comments on all of the articles of all the positive cases, of all the sarcastic posts about prayer and church. I am not doing a good job of guarding my heart and mind.

I would venture to say most of us have an addiction. It might not be what we typically think of when it comes to addiction: drugs, alcohol, etc. But we have the inability to stop consuming the negativity. We have an addiction with arguments on social media. We have an addiction with getting offended by a post. We have an addiction to all of the doom and gloom in the news. We have an addiction to fear, anger, frustration. I know you do, because I do.

BUT GOD. He is our healer. He is our provider and our protector. Join me in this episode and let's shift our perspective back to Him so we can once again anoint our heads with oil and have our cups overflowing with his peace once again.

Going back to the essentials
1537

This word “essential” has been flying around more than ever before. In this new cancelled life we have been living lately, we have been stripped down to just the essentials. Our extremely busy lives of what we thought were “essential” have been slowed way down and we are finding that our essentials are. And it’s not that we didn’t love these “essentials” with our old way of living...but when all of the distractions are gone, our eyes have truly been opened to what is really important. The essentials: those things that are absolutely necessary, extremely important. We are finding out essentials again. How long have we gone storing up our riches for ourselves on this earth, instead of focusing on our riches in heaven? This quarantine has opened my eyes as it probably has yours too. Have you found yourself going back to the essentials? I cannot pretend to understand why things are happening the way they are. But I do know that we can take this time to grow closer to God. We can take this time to grow our faith. Faith grows exponentially faster in the middle of a fire than when everything is perfect. Things that once were so important to us are now non-essential.  When this is all over, we figure out how to be grateful for life, our life, and remember the times when we were stripped down to our essentials.

Reassurance for us all
1383

Taking a break from our March series of The Lies. I tried to come up with something to keep that flow going, but God really put it on my heart to just speak peace, reassurance, and strength over all of my listeners this week.

As scary as our world has become with Covid-19, I know my God is more powerful than anything in this world. I know that my God already knew about all of this, this isn’t a surprise to him. And for some reason, knowing that He already knew about it AND He already knows what is to come, gives me a sense of calm and peace. What if we took all of our fears  unknowns and didn't factored in my own strength, but GOD’s strength, power, and knowledge??  Filter what you are consuming through the filter of God. Fix your attention on Him. Represent him well today, not by fear or anger, but by being an example of peace and kindness during this uncertain time.

I pray this episode helps you find your peace and you leave with a little more reassurance that God will continue to provide and protect His people even during these times. He has not left us.

The Lie: My Spouse needs to give me what I need
1553

We are continuing our mini-series of The Lies! In this week's episode, we are tackling relationships! More specifically marriages and the feeling that our spouse should give us everything. We think they are supposed to be our source of love, validation, identity, self worth...but is that what my husband is made to do?

Feeling loved, beautiful, wanted, secure, validated, are not bad things to feel. We want to feel those, right?? You want to feel these things! The problem r husbands can make me feel...it implies he has the power to make you feel...and sister, he doesn’t have that power. He does not control your thoughts. He doesn’t control your feelings. YOU control BOTH those.

So join me today as we dive deeper into this topic. We will learn to find our true worth and value in that God says a woman and a wife should be, the spiritual gifts he has already blessed us with, and what we really should be expecting from our husbands.

The Lie: I am not a good mom
1639

Are you exhausted, momma? Have you been fighting that constant "mom guilt", comparing yourself to other parents thinking they are better parents that you? That you're not a good enough mom because of XYZ? We go down this vicious, comparisonititis cycle of they’re better than me - I’m not doing enough - we don't feed our kids organic - etc etc. And, especially as moms, we will tear our own selves down so far and we do it for so long that one thought of “I am not a good mom” turns into a full on belief & identity crisis!! In this episode of,  lets break down this lie. Let’s really dissect where all of these negative thoughts are coming from. And lets find our truth of what God says about this lie. Because momma, God did not make you a bad mom. You are an AMAZING MOM!

The Lie: I will be happy when I lose the weight
1724

Welcome to the first episode of my new mini-series titled THE LIES. Each week for 4-weeks, I will uncover and discuss a new internal lie we believe and tell to ourselves.

Do you ever think like this? I will be happy IF I _____. It seems innocent to our minds. It’s rational thinking. I am currently unhappy about this ___. So if I change it, the opposite of unhappy is happy. So this new situation must make me happy.

In this week's episode, we are going to tackle the lie that losing weight, becoming thinner, any body improvement will make me happy. Is that really true? Or is there another truth, the REAL TRUTH behind our happiness? Can losing weight truly make us happy? Or can we be content regardless of our body type?

Foundation of Faith
1491

On this episode, I give you a small sneak peek into a part of my Made for More Masterclass! The course is a 4 week course designed to help women grown a stronger, more resilient foundation of faith, using that faith to grow in our courage and self confidence, and ultimately be able to confidently walk in our power that God has ordained us with! This episode is a small taste of week 2 of my four week course! It was so powerful with my launch group that I couldn't hold it back from everyone else! How would you rank your foundation of faith on a scale of 0-10? Why is a foundation of faith important to our spiritual walk in Christ? (It goes deeper than, "so we don't go to hell".) We deep super deep in this episode. We discuss what evidence in our life is proof that we are walking on a true foundation of faith OR if events/emotions/thoughts in our lives are actually evidence that we have been walking on a substitute for our faith. Perhaps you have been building your life on a substitute? This is such a juicy topic, guys! Join me and be blessed by the word!

Our Words are Powerful
1387

We are currently living in a society where we are allowed any and all opinions. And while we might have our freedom of speech, social media has allowed us to become people who act braver behind a keyboard without any negative repercussions of our actions. What does the Bible say about our actions as Christians? What should we be doing and saying in a secular world? What is the most powerful weapon we have at our disposal every day against these rude comments, negative opinions, and condescending words from strangers? Do we fight back with more words or is there something more powerful that God has given us that makes an even bigger impact?

Are you a Doer or a Hearer?
1168

Do you ever have those moments where you are feeling called to do something? There is a little voice inside of you that is urging to just take the leap of faith. Just step out in to the unknown. Everything will be ok. Just do it. See what it’s all about!

BUT – then our brain takes over. The “rational” part of our brain starts to create a list of all the reasons why it’s a bad idea, why it won’t work, you’re not qualified, you don’t even know where to start. And we come the conclusion that we have to say no. We aren’t meant to walk down that journey because of XYZ. Does this sound a bit familiar when it comes to your life? Have you been staying in your comfort zone instead of listening to God’s calling on your life? What would you life be like if we followed God with all of our heart, all of our faith, all of our truth ALL THE TIME? You were made for so much more! Let's climb out of that comfort zone together into a bigger purpose for you!

Our Spiritual Gifts
1571

Today I want to focus on the struggle that a lot of ladies have when it comes comparison. But putting a slightly different spin on the comparison trap. I want to instead redirect all of that energy on the outside and focus it back on ourselves. I wanted to focus on what we possess, things we are good at. Our spiritual gifts! We are too busy thinking our gifts are not good enough and everybody else’s gifts are better than our own. So we choose to not put our own energy towards unlocking the spiritual gifts God has given to us. God’s gifts are handed out everywhere! So join me as we find out what our true spiritual gifts are, knowing they are special, and they are needed!

Capture Your Confidence
1681

I wanted to make sure I titled this podcast correctly, focusing on growing our confidence and not how we are lacking confidence. Our thoughts are so powerful and we can easily allow them to take full control of us to the point we don’t even recognize we have lost control of them. We can easily focus on how much confidence we are lacking or missing and only entertaining the negative option as our only option. In today's podcast, I am going to challenge you to see your CHOICES when it comes to confidence! Yes, you have the capacity to CHOOSE which outlook you are going to take today! Are you going to choose thoughts that are full of limiting beliefs about yourself? ? OR are you going to choose the thoughts that are grounded with a growth mindset? You have the power to chose to stay stuck feeling you don't have any confidence or you can choose to get back up and take your confidence back! Let's chat about how you can do that today plus what spiritual weapons you will need to build this new found confidence on a foundation of truth, so you will not be shaken!
